You might think I'm drunk or something right now....I'm stone cold sober.

We need to talk about this potato thing.

You may be stone cold sober, but there are other things which can lead a man to post like this.... Anyway, enough of that...

I'm going to move this to the punters' rambling thread and leave you to dicuss potatoes there.

Also trying to figure out how I missed this earlier this morning

It was quite fascinating to see a skewbald run at Hexham today. I wouldn't be in favour of seeing this trend emerge but it is an interesting concept.

There was a 2 year old colt one at Doncaster the other week. He's by an American stallion who is a skewbald

That's why I don't like it. Outbreeding diminishes the thoroughbred pool and I think it is 8 generations before these crosses can be recognised as thoroughbreds. Not to mention that the inconsistency of the gene make up will generally result in these animals being quite poor racehorses.

I believe they are vegetables but I am sure plenty of nutritionists would argue these varieties don't count as your five a day.

It might not be any harm at this stage, thoroughbreds are being too closely crossed now and seem to be getting more fragile. Perhaps a small bit of outbreeding may restrenghten the next generations legs etc.

Don't get me wrong I don't want to watch cow racing.

Bad day in the bookies lads. Should have done better. Oh well could be worse.
Heading home now, took a half day from work and went on the beer. Might grab a pizza or a chinese.
