I'm 21. No telecoms experience at all. No 3rd level education either.

Common sense & intelligence is all you need.

I take it your "common sense & intelligence" didnt come up trumps since you havent posted since we found out who were getting the jobs! was probably your cockiness that made you think you knew more than you did and didnt get a job because of it!

BTW got one of the positions that why i tracked down this thread, was supposed to be starting the 14th but im away that date, so i think its the following week need to double check well done all!

I was really hoping Red Devil would be called but I'd say you are right, it must be bad .I feel so bad for him after the long wait. The competition was very badly handled by Eircom.

A few apprentices already got the cut including myself, great job while it lasted, pity the organisation of the whole thing was a bit of a disaster, they made up some bullsh1t excuse of why i wasn't good enough, got no warning about it at all, myself and all the technicians i was working for were shocked as i had been getting on fine, definately wouldn't work for eircom again after seeing how ruthless they were with me, i couldnt even get the reasons why i was let go in writing off them, looks like i'll be another one to hop on a plane and leave the country

that's a total joke!! did you not have a contract?? wouldn't have thought they could get away with that...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,398 ✭✭✭ormondprop

Its a 2 yr contract with a 6 month probation, so they can do what they want, they refused to give me a letter in writing of why i was let go and i wrote a letter of appeal and they refused to let me appeal, i missed a few weeks work due to an injury but had a medical cert covering, i missed two training courses in that time and was told they would arrange for me to do them again but never did so i reckon they decided it was easier let me go than arrange for me to do the courses on my own
