MacBook: iPhoto & Hard drive errors

    So, firstly i'm not sure if this is an iPhoto or a hard drive problem but neveretheless..

    So i uploaded new photos via iPhoto, copied the originals to my external hard drive, edited them and wanted to copy these edited versions to both my hard drive and external hd. But i got two seperate errors;
    1. The volume has the wrong case sensitivity for a backup. (When trying to copy to the external hd.)
    2. The operation can’t be completed because it isn’t supported. (When trying to copy to the normal hd.)
    Anyone have any solutions, reasons to why this is happening?? it's rather frustrating..

    Moved to Mac.
    For OSX doesn't repairing permissions sort these issues out? Anyways not familiar so hopefully someone here can advise

    By default iPhoto copies to the user folder ( local drive ). How are you copying to the external drive?

    Hmm, i'll wait on a few more answers before i try that out.

    i usually just select the photos i want to copy and drag them to a folder in Finder. also where/how do i locate that folder in which iPhoto copies the photos too? cos that'd be easier to copy from , right?

    Actually no, iPhoto needs to manage the transfer of files because it is a type of database. If you do it manually you need to know what you are doing.

    Dont drag and drop in the Finder ( you can drag and drop in the iPhoto window because this is a copy ). Read Terence's suggestion ( the 'other options' bit is useful)

    THANK YOU!! i read his piece and learnt to Export the files..lol.

    although i still don't know why those errors came up..but at least i have the photos on my laptop. thanks!
