Just a quick post to say baby girl Eloise arrived on Wednesday morning after a long gruelling 20 hour induced labour weighing a healthy 8lbs15ozs. Thankfully all is well ... Happy and healthy if a bit weary.

Had a lovely night out in the end though I'm exhausted this morning - not able for these late nights anymore :-)

Had an early scan today at 7 weeks. I was extremely anxious going in as my symptoms had faded a lot over the weekend but the baby is still going strong. The doctor was pretty confident that the odds of a healthy pregnancy are very good as the heartbeat is so strong and healthy.

Great to hear Iguana, hopefully the scan will give you some peace of mind so you can feel a bit more relaxed & can start to enjoy your pregnancy, easier said than done sometimes but scans like that really help:)

Thanks. I had a bit of a rotten early pregnancy as with my suppressed immune system I picked up the cold sore virus from my husband, despite us being as careful as we could be once he got the pre-sore tingle. I've never had a cold sore, so as this was a primary infection I got very sick with it. Initially I thought it was morning sickness and just put up with it but then I got crazy diarrhoea and my whole mouth and throat broke out in sores so went to my GP and he confirmed that it was the virus. Luckily in early pregnancy I wasn't in danger of infecting the baby (a primary infection in the third trimester can be risky) and my temperature stayed down so I didn't risk a fever miscarriage but I felt absolutely rancid. So now that I'm nearly recovered from that I feel really symptomless as my nausea is really, really mild in comparison. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that, that will be the worst of my pregnancy drama.

    Congrats Iguana!

I really hope you have no more pregnancy drama: that sounds like enough!!

Huge Congrats on your amazing news Iguana :) what a very beautiful scan x try stay positive! A heartbeat is an amazing sign! I remember on my 3rd pregnancy after (2 mc's before) I was told that 95% of pregnancies that have a heartbeat go through to a baby :) I don't know if it's an accurate % but it was a midwife that told me :) wishing you a very healthy & happy pregnancy xxx

That's what my doctor told me too and he's a fertility specialist with a lot of experience of miscarriage, so I guess it's pretty accurate. I was a bit disappointed when my husband informed me he had said 95% though, as I had somehow convinced myself that he'd said 99.5%.:P

Hehe I can see why you'd be disappointed but it's a very close % so you could always tell yourself that it's true :) it'll keep ya more positive! I love seeing people from TTC Thread come over here :) x

3 days left, though babs isn't showing any signs of budging!!!
Normal midwife's appointment in the morning & if nothing has happened by my visit next week my midwife will do a sweep.
I'm just on the waiting game at the minute :-)
