We dominated Meath by the look of it, 1-12 to 1-11. Pity we lost to Tipp, did Lar Corbett turn up to watch. Too busy for hurling but has the time to sell Lidl Hurleys.

Was at the Meath game. Should have won by more. Joe Sheridan was in the square for their goal. Good enough game it must be said. The 2 teams play the game like it should be played and kick the ball unlike most intercounty teams!

Deisedude was that Nicky Joyce free the worst miss you've ever seen from a free?

It was by a distance the worst! He is an enigma, in the first half couldn't do anything wrong and for large parts of the second half couldn't do anything right. Your lack of scoring forwards is a serious concern. What happened to Sean Armstrong? I'm presuming Meehan is injured again

Hasn't he been crocked for a few years now, feels like it anyway. Must watch the Gaa highlights at 8, I bet Michael Lyster has a maroon tie on again.

Armstong is useless/injured but Meehan has unofficially retired at this point. He has the Paul McGrath injury where he doesn't know when he'll be fit for training.

Meath were good in parts. Lot of Meath fans there and I'd say 50/50 split. Any of them I spoke to were very nice. Bray was excellent from frees. Joe Sheridan came on as a sub and made a difference. A big talking point from the Meath fans around me was how Sheridan is off to Canada. Could be a load of ****e (like Gallagher in goals for Meath).

Just saw a Meath fan on hoganstand saying Sheridan is off to Boston so he probably is off to somewhere around there, would probably be a better explanation as to why he hasn't been starting rather than injury, hope its not true though. Gallagher musn't like playing in Gaway, I remember 6 years ago he played full back and Meehan scored about 4 or 5 goals on him.

He seemed to have no confidence in his kick-outs. If he didn't go short straight away he took long kickouts that Meath didn't really ever catch. That's coming from a fan of Galway who are awful in midfield for the last 5 years or so.

Meaths midfield have been fairly poor in midfield the last number of years, we have no midfielders who can catch a ball, hopefully Shane O'Rourke can when he comes back from injury. How good are Galway anyway, they seemed to have mixed results so far, losing to Westmeath last week was a fairly poor result for them.

The poor team from last year mixed with hope in the U-21s that won the All-Ireland last year. New management that's need to stop changing every year. In general there are no great teams in football with the exception of Dublin on a good day. That makes the championship more unpredictable too though so it's maybe a good thing.

Looks like Sheridan is off to Boston alright, I think the New England Patriots have signed him up after his superb touchdown against Louth in the 2010 Leinster Final :D

I found a protection against it, get a smart phone with the pattern key pad lock and make a real complicated code before you drink, then while drunk your hand eye co-ordination wont let you in.

also i hope it wasn't anything to bad

having done drunk texting i gotta admit that a piece of myself wanted to do it; and being drunk went and did it; so u know, maybe not in the way you wanted, but it opened a dialogue of an avenue that some part of you wanted!

In other news, watched The Muppets & the Season Finale of Dexter today. Both really great watches.....for different reasons lol. Two of the songs are very apparent that it's the Flight of the Conchords guy writing the Muppets' songs! Perfect use of celebrities as well.

Dexter, this season's storyline was pretty tepid for me, picked up steam but lacked the individuality & progression of previous seasons; or maybe i more care about the villain and although the biblical thing was new, i was hoping for something else than "this season's serial killer". The characters did a lot of growth in it (except for Masuka, lol) which is commendable. I don't like Deb's angle this season though; Tony Soprano shot that shit straight down! Tom Hanks' son is quite ugly. Overall i'm sure still great, but average to worse relative to the standards set by previous seasons. I hope it's one more and done, although I'm sure there's more to come.

What was the drunken text about JP Liz? Was it Galway GAA related is my main question?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,600 ✭✭✭✭CMpunked

I used to get drunken texts all the time from a best mate of mine. About practically everything like how he still loved his ex (who he broke up with about 2 years prior) how he thought i was great for being straight edge and deciding when the club was getting crap and heading home, asking me to call taxi's for him, as i said, everything.
Then he moved to Qatar nearly a year ago and in my head i was like "Yus, freedom!" but after a few weeks i'll be honest, i missed it.
So then he got whatsapp, which is brilliant i thought id be getting them again, but its not the same if i dont get them in the dead of night. :pac:

I think they have two more signed for. If they are still getting good ratings I'm sure there will be more after that too. Personally, I think the books went in a much better direction. Once you start one of them, you cant put it down for long before you're reading it again.

Always fun in Drogheda. Probably be a news story about a stabbing emerging later on. Wont say too much cause my understanding is police are coming down hard on the attacker but it was my Dad who was on the recieving end. He is going to be ok but I've got to admit, being woken at seven in the morning to be told he is in hospital has kind of shaken me today, despite our problems...

Sorry to hear that TeamShadowClan, hope the scumbag who did it pays for it & most importantly hope that your Dad has a good recovery. Can't imagine what i'd be like if that happened my Dad, closest he came to a harm recently was a few months back when I stepped in front of his path moving cattle and he smashed me with a stick right in the back of the head.
