I'd imagine creditors who are owed thousands of pounds would care as it would mean less money for them.

Cousin deal made no sense unless his playing for Rangers (In Administration) cost Rangers (In Administration) nothing.

Maybe ....because he signed the contract before rangers went into administration, which we know, they have to honour the contract, so he gets paid anyway, whether he plays or not.

When have I got into a discussion about Politics? Bar telling ye that it has nothing to do with Rangers administration..

You seem to be unable to distinguish between the two at this stage.

You keep on trying to bring the conversation back to politics whilst the rest of us are trying to stay on topic.

Then you throw a barbed comment like the one above. You're only here to stir sh1t, what's the point mate, why bother?

Very good point. If the contract was signed before admin then they would have to honour it... though he would struggle to get paid the full amount.

Still find it odd though, that if he signed the contract, that the administrator would need to sign off on it again.

The worst thing about this post is that is actually what you believe.

I despise anything outside of football been brought up in conversation.

You would want to look at yourself if you think that it's somehow me that brings up things other then football.

A Fail if ever there was one

I think the upshot of this is ...rangers thought they could get him signed and registered before they went into administration but because HMRC pushed it through sooner, they are left with a signed player but not registered. :D

If they are paying him thats 30k closer to liquidation, which is no biggy, what with their debts, bills etc

    edit 60k closer

You're the one in the "Rangers FC lodge papers to go into administration" who keeps on asking questions about the Hunger Strikers!

Anyone remember this from 10 years ago?
Rangers Chairman David Murray dealt a decisive blow for Airdrieonians in 2002 when he demanded money owed to him by the club and was unsympathetic towards their cause.

Murray was quoted as saying: “I apologise to Airdrie’s supporters but something had to be done about this debt. Business is business and Carnegie Sports also have wages to pay,” bluntly refusing to help the debt-stricken club.

    http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/hamilton/297958-footballs-financial-problems-in-lanarkshire/
Mr Murray said: "I feel very sorry for Airdrie and their supporters but we're running a business. We have given them repeated warnings and felt they were playing on our good nature.

Now Rangers are expecting the taxpayer to bail them out

You seem to be unable to understand some simple English phrases.

    Just have to disagree then.

Why's that? 1989 was the year Rangers signed their first openly Catholic player.

An amazingly low amount of Catholics have played for Rangers since the clubs inception.

Is this reflective of an open non discriminatory signing policy?

    No it's ****ing wasn't.
We all know how you feel about Rangers, no need to use lies to show your hatred (because that it, isn't it ? It's not a dislike, it''s hatred from your part).

    Was that anything new though?

Rangers are a horrible club full of bigots and this has always been the case.

No matter what happens Rangers as a force are done.

Whether they decide to downsize significantly or wind up, its all the one to us as they are finished either way and it can only be a good thing for football IMO.

They basically cheated their way to title victories and everything about them stinks of corruption and hatred. In the end it is best for football that this despicable club is done, i do feel sorry for the few genuine fans but they are in the minority when it come to fans with this heinous club.

From the fans I have met I would disagree with this comment strongly.:(

Correct I absolutely hate Rangers because of their discriminatory past. Denying that Rangers signing policy was immoral speaks volumes about you.

Back on topic for a change does anyone know what new info came to light last night that the administrators will be announcing next week?

It was mentioned briefly on SSN.

I wonder which of you will come back crying that the big bad Rangers fans got him banned.

If you think we're so horrible, **** off.

    edit:
I'm not denying anything, you're the one lying through your teeth about how we only signed a Catholic in 89.

Whats the story about Rangers entering Europe will they have to go through SFA for this or is it a case that they will not be allowed into Europe full stop?

Some Celtic fan was banned a few months ago and then came back on claiming we got him banned, when it was just his disgusting comments that did it.

And I'm not talking about the signing policy, I'm talking about how you wrongly claimed our first Catholic was signed in 1989.

By the way, would that be 'our first Catholic' who up to this day can not enter Scotland without 'ra best fans in ra world' protesting against it ?
All because he chose Rangers over Celtic ?

The_Kew_Tour: If Rangers exit administration before March 31st and get the accounts signed off European football could be allowed (depending on what happens later of course).
If not then it's no European football full stop.

    Sorry 'high profile' catholic player

David Miller, the general secretary of the Rangers' Supporters' Association condemned the signing, saying "It is a sad day for Rangers... I don't want to see a Roman Catholic at Ibrox."[105] Johnston was the highest-profile Catholic to sign for the club since the World War I era; other Catholics signed prior to Johnston but since the end of World War I include Laurie Blyth (1951–1952), Don Kitchenbrand (1955–1956), Hugh O'Neill (1976) and John Spencer (1985–1992).[106][107]

a little bit of a short list dont you think? gladly the club has moved on and focused on non sectarian illegal practices instead :D

we can go around in circles forever but the old signing policies stank. you'll say they dont and we can leave it at that if you want.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-17085051

any idea what this relates to?

That list is incomplete, a quick search will tell you the complete list.

What that could mean is that they have more information about the deal made between Murray and Whyte, several people lately have alluded that they may very well have been in on it together.

We'll just have to wait and see.

edit: I wonder why Celtic fans are so angry about the signing policy, while a few years ago they played a friendly against Bilbao who also had a discriminatory signing policy in place (one could reason that they still do).
And they seemed to get along very well with the Spaniards ;)

 didn't take you long to slip up :D

The whole thing stinks (between them two), I honestly believe setting up a new club and coming up the leagues would be best for ye. Ye'd be back challenging for the spl with a healthy balance sheet, debt free and owning all your revenue streams within 5 years.

As it is now even if ye got to write off all your debt ye have no season ticket money for 4 years (reportedly) so ye'd be financially crippled for the next 4 years probably accruing new debt.

Which way would ye personally like to see things go?

Complete clear-out of the club, top to bottom.

No more 'jobs for the boys', people need to earn their job instead of just being friends with top people in the club.
If we have to spend a few years winning nothing or playing diddy teams in a lower league, so be it. As long as the club survives and comes out stronger.

And how did I slip up there ?

What discriminatory signing policy did Bilbao have? Did they refuse to sign players from one religion for purely sectarian reasons?

Again it's amazing that The_Kew_Tour is "thanking" these posts that are about sectarian policies when he's trying to claim he's not interested in anything bar the soccer!!!

Erm, their policy to only sign Basque players ?
    It's pretty well known.

bobby: First half was pretty bad, second half a bit better but still poor.
But not deserving to lose this, two perfectly good goals disallowed.
