Are south asian men misogynists ?

Not sure if this is a right place. Am new here so apologies in advance.

I have been told that by and large, south asian men(those who come from Indian subcontinent) are perceived as probable misogynists for many generalized reasons, especially by women in Ireland(and some other European countries) in general.

Is this true? Would like to hear more from the ladies although others can chip in as well.

I read that as more Pacific... :pac:

Cultures with arranged marriages, FGM, etc are probably more likely to be more misogynistic. You could probably even argue that a lot of south east Asians tend to me Muslim or Hindu and (like all religions) can be quite misogynistic.

You could also argue that western culture is more liberal than other parts of the world. Women are generally afforded equal rights here but in other cultures are expected to stay in the home and the idea of a career is a new development.

Of all of the above could also apply to Ireland.

Arranged marriages were not that uncommon in Ireland until recently.
The aim was not to control women, but to control the inheritance of land.

There is the world of difference between arranged marriage and and forced marriage.

Ford owners are the biggest demographic of misogynists, followed by non-feminist atheists.

Well, they're not having massive public protests about gang rape in India for nothing.
One might mention the trend of South Asian origin men grooming underage girls for sex abuse in the UK also.

People who make broad statements about an entire population of a country or area are sometimes called "racists".

It would be if it were an isolated incident, which it clearly is not. Also, we are talking about the region of the planet with the highest incidence of prenatal female infanticide.
