Eisfeld confirmed from Dortmund! One senior app for dortmund, 19 yrs old and history of serious cruciate ligament injury already! Not really the big name we were hoping for, is it?

    Bergkamp
    ...
    God I feel old...

You know he was a flop in Italy and it was one Bruce Rioch that actually signed him.

At least it would something shiny and slivery to put in the cabinet to disturb the dust.

Also could the kids like Redzer stop depressing us with their ages. :D
Some of us remember Brady, Stapleton and the O'Learys. ;)

BTW anyone come across an article in Spanish press claiming RVP wants away to Barca ?

I am not allowed discuss …

Looks like Arshavin is off to Anzhi

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,789 ✭✭✭emergingstar

Sky reporting anzhi put in a bid for arshavin I think it's best for all if that deal goes through
    Can't see it happening though

If Arshavin goes we'll only have three fit wingers. And if one gets injured then all of a sudden we're pushing the other two too much.

Would rather keep him and keep him as a sub till the summer until we can bring in a better player. Unless of course we magically sign a top class wide player today, which I can't see happening.

Just thinking. didn't Arshavin say some not so nice things about Anzhi recently?

Apparently though Rioch had nothing to do with the signing. Was all the work of Dein and the board... at least that's what some chap said on the Le Grove podcast.

Anzhi would have to wait until the last day leaving us no time to sign a replacement. Wonder what kind of money would be involved?

Arshavin isn't a fan though so we're probably better off trying to offload him to Zenit in the summer.

If they offered us decent money I'd still take it. He does nothing so he wouldnt be missed. We'd be left with oxtail-chamberpot, Walcott and Gervinho. Rosicky can play up there, so we wouldnt be bereft of options.

    "Van Persie crazy for Barca."

Says " He wants to play with his friend Cesc"

Then something about his contract being finished with Arsenal in 2013

Could this be the start of Barca's taping up of Van Persie?

Xavi n co will be out in full force in the summer...something about DNA...blah blah blah

If it's a good offer for Arshavin we should definitly take it. Chamberlain, Walcott, Gervinho and Rosicky can all play his role. Benayoun and Arteta probably could too, maybe Santos aswell.

If it's a good offer, take it. We have plently of cover and I reckon all those named would do more than Arshavin currently does, even if it isnt their best position.

Do Arsenal need to release or sell an Over 21 player in order to bring in another does anyone know?

Looks like we're signing nobody again. Typical, well Wenger only has himself to blame now when Van Persie inevitably gets injured.

Transfer deadline day as an Arsenal fan is like sitting in detention and watching all the other kids play in the playground

A lot of reports from Germany saying weve signed Lewis Holtby? From Schalke but he wont be arriving until the summer.

On Arshavin if the reports are true bite the hand off Anzhi and let him go regardless of cover I dont want him on a pitch for Arsenal ever. Some difference between this deadline day and the one during the summer.

Manuel Almunia, Andrey Arshavin, Mikel Arteta, Yossi Benayoun, Marouane Chamakh, Abou Diaby, Johan Djourou, Lukasz Fabianski, Gervinho, Kieran Gibbs, Laurent Koscielny, Vito Mannone, Per Mertesacker, Chu-Young Park, Tomas Rosicky, Bacary Sagna, Andre Santos, Alex Song, Sebastien Squillaci, Robin Van Persie, Thomas Vermaelen and Theo Walcott

That's the squad we registered. 22/25 places. Add in Henry and it becomes 23. Unless someone has turned 21 since, we can fit in two more players at most.

Having a rummage through BBC deadline day page like myself? wink.gif

High spending deadline day signings for Arsenal is the closest thing to a mirage you are going to get in EPL.

    Still hoping though :)
