New episode of Black Mirror may be the world's first anti-Kinect parody.

Gaah Windows Movie Maker I hate you so very very much
On top of being generally just ****e it seems to randomly not accept FRAPS Avi captures for NO F@#KING REASON!!
Screw it I'm going to switch to Sony Vegas (this may involve actually getting sony vegas)\

I loved using Vegas myself for the handful of videos I edited.

A free one that might be worth trying is VLC's bigger brother,

Final Cut Pro 7 for life.

Alas even Apple didn't see it that way.

    Nice one,
might have a look , although a kind mate hooked me up with an old copy of Vegas , to see if it'd suit.Even after 2 hours I was able to do a better looking intro and the whole process was a lot smootherand painfree compared to WMM .(managed to get decent royalty free intro music as well). Rendering time is horrible though but thats my PC I guess... should have a new ( test) vid up this evening....

Nice one, looking forward to your new intro. I use Vegas too. I bought v10 Platinum Suite as the only major difference between 10 and 11 is 3D abilities. Easier to use than I thought it would be.

Along with laser discs, they've been on my 'must get into that' list.

I've never actually heard one in person. Would love to see how they hold up against regular CDs.

I didn't know my Blu Ray player was SACD compatible. Sadly I don't think it's XRCD compatible, only JVC units are and the catalog of XRCD's is a bit boring to say the least.

SACD's seem to hold a lot of value. Not sure quite why, is it just a lossless master replica? I assume then standard CD-A discs are still compressed even as PCM files. Toying with buying one disc and buying the same as a CD-A and comparing them. Just for the laugh like.

I remember reading on a forum once (I think it was Head-Fi) about some tediously anal sterophiles that invested in 'stereophile-grade' ear cleaning tools (same as syringing your own ears) in order to keep their lugs in top shape for listening. That's as bad as collecting sealed games and sniffing them.

I've about 4 pairs of high-end IEM's and over-ear phones and a good set of separates, but that's about it. I've never been in to those €30,000 each TAG McLaren floor-standers and €5000 gold interconnects.

looks quite similar to the one from last year with the mega drive emulator and about 20 sega games built in(plus many wii knockoffs)?

Some nice titles in that sale! Must go check to see if I already have the good ones. I presume everything works ok with Windows 7 64bit these days? I remember some games from gog had issues ages ago.

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and not had a problem. Sometimes a new release is incompatible but there;s usually a fix on the forums and it gets patched pretty quickly. If there are problems it will be in the game description.

In other news, there's a fantastic Metal Gear Solid 2 retrospective:

Haven't got time to read it now, but does it mention how everything after the tanker level was a steaming pile of androgynous prancing nancy boy ****e?

It's all about how MGS2 was the biggest troll in videogame history.

    Interesting read!

This sums it all up for me really -

The first half of the tanker chapter served as MGS2's demo -- a free extra that sold countless copies of the game it accompanied, Zone of the Enders -- and led eager fans to expect a very different experience than what they received in the bulk of the final game. They anticipated a game featuring Snake in rich, detailed, interactive environments; they received instead an interloper dashing through sterile metal tubes.

Trolling of the highest order. Maybe Kojima had something to do with founding /b/

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 54,089 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

I had a long think about it and I don't think that in 10 years MGS4 will be looked at in as favourable light. There's really nothing meta about that games, it's just ****.

    Just read it myself too

Very good read, I was never a hater of the game but then again I was about 11-12 when I first played it so a lot of the story was lost of me.

I played through all the main games last year and if you do that you realise that Kojima will go down in history as "legit as balls!"
