There are 3 rooms at the top of the CSIS building that are usually pretty quite. There are tuts helpd in some of the rooms but they are rare. Hope it helps.

    Venus labs,
Get a computer and you could nearly stay there for the day I reckon...
Quiet as well and desk space so you can actually write stuff up if necessary...
Or stay at home with laptop, take some regular (well earned) study breaks and the option of tea and biscuits whenever you please :)
    Must go to UL soon...

There are plenty, the various labs around the college being one example. Even the common room is quiet enough during the week.
This I used work with ITD and when I checked the main building labs they were always abandoned I just can't remember the room names.

Is there anywhere in the place to study bar the library?

In CSIS up on the third floor, 3004a and b are usually free. I'd recommend a though, as it's usually quieter, and if you're in b, there's a chance you'll be asked to move by a 4th year cos they do their FYP's in there. Just remember you won't be able to use the computers, but the wireless is is grand, and you can just plug out the monitor of the PC in front of you for a charge socket. Once was in 004a from 10am to 9pm without ever having to leave.

Venus Labs, an unlocked tutorial room are also good alterntatives.

Oh, and Red Raisins is really quiet at 4 in the morning, only ever about 10 people in there studying at that time. :)

Would most tutorial rooms be unlocked? Found them very handy to study for last summer's exams.

I'd say so. A1-052 was unlocked anyway.

during week days all the rooms are open until about 8ish until security come and lock up.
Venus is open is till 10.

I love having swipe access to a computer lab, I hate the library and find it generally unproductive

You know if the green light is on beside my name I'm doing nothing...
You know if it's not on, 9 times out of 10 I've found a new distraction whilst shutting laptop in an attempt to force myself to study...
    Self-control...
Not one of my strong points...

So apparently open mic's not on tonight. Wish I had known that before I walked over in the rain.

El Presidente forgot to send out the email letting everyone know it was off, apparently.

When I'm president, this won't happen!

Depends if anyone runs against me. If someone who I believe will run the soc well goes for it, I'll face them in elections. Anything else, Atari Jaguar.

You will have to listen to the Presidents speech first. Not quite up there with Castro yet.
