Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Tegopelte, a VERY ancient top predator

09-11-2011 8:39pm#1I had no idea about the existence of this 30 cm long creature- one of the largest animals of its time. The article is about a trackway seemingly left by the creature:

And, now that we're talking about weird, trilobite-like, prehistoric looking critters...
It's a trilobite-beetle (yes, it is really called that) from the rainforests of southeastern Asia. The females like the one in the video are neotenic and look like armored larvae their whole life! These bugs are very, very rare to see.4
