Long arms for Appalachiosaurus!

    It seems that some scientists believe Appalachiosaurus, the south-eastern tyrannosauroid (from Alabama IIRC) to have had long, three fingered arms, kinda like Dryptosaurus.

    The only Appalachiosaurus mount in the world is restored this way:

    Looks amazing or what?

    The creature is now in an Alabama museum I believe. Of course some paleontologists aren´t sure about this because the actual arms have never been found- they were recreated by comparing Appalachiosaurus to other non-tyrannosaurid tyrannosauroids.
    Whatever the truth, a long-armed giant (or almost giant) tyrannosauroid looks very very cool IMO :D

    Not that I amn't loving the restorations, I just fear they will probably end up needing correction in the future...

    Well the critter is a tyrannosauroid, but not a tyrannosaurid- and non-tyrannosaurid tyrannosauroids do have long, three-clawed fingers. Dryptosaurus also seems to have had large arms.
