that's great to hear. Last season of dexter was (imo) it's worst season (which is still better than almost everything else on tv!) but it got it's highest ratings.

ya these screeners for early episodes of tv shows are the ones given out to magazines/sites etc for reviewing/telling people what the new season will be like. it only takes one generous sod to share it with the rest of the world!

Here's a teaser trailer made by one of my friends - hoping to get it made into a full film if it gets enough attention - please like it on youtube :)

Just watched Warrior, absolutely wonderful movie.. Glad Angle had no lines in it:pac: I'm sure it'll be up for plenty of Oscars, and deservedly too!

His terms are just the icing on the cake. I didn't know you could put "meeting wrestlers" on a CV :pac:

Why does it look like his CV is written on toilet roll? Or maybe it's formatted for iPad 2 :p

I'd hire him just for the fact that he's both met and communicated with Tom Pritcher!

Just after watching Machete there, enjoyable enough. Had to laugh at them trying & failing to find clothes that make Steven Seagal look as thin as possible but nothing compares to the dye job he did so bad he'd kill to have Nash's hair.

Part of me thought it would be a story about him coming out as a wrestling fan.

w/r/t "The Dreamachine", I wonder if that's the average level of intelligence in the general indy wrestling population. I can only imagine if wrestlers weren't kept in line by promotors/bookers/writers!

"My character does not submit unless for one or two ways. Either the stone cold way or the bret hart way in sivivor series 1993"

I can only assume that he means how Stone Cold passed out @ WrestleMania 13 to Bret Hart (in a submission match) but does anyone know what he's referring to w/ Series 93? Bret was a survivor (as was everyone on his team except Owen @ that show)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,116 ✭✭✭starviewadams

Think he meant the Survivor Series 94 Bret vs Backlund finish.

I would guess the 93 part is a typo and he means the screwjob submission finish when he doesent really submit but the bell gets rung by an authority figure.

aha, ok. maybe he could be in the I Quit match where the finish is "we've got your friend, quit or i'll harm them in some fashion" and so he quits

I wonder how much this kind of self-interested booking crops up in the irish promotions.

Batman: The Animated Series (BTAS) is the best in my opinion, and it was the first. Personhally favourite episodes are Two-Face: Part 1&2. Its hard to get a genuine order on the episodes though, as they were broadcast in a different order from being made. Series won multiple awards. Then came the Adventures of Batman and Robin and brought in some good stuff but never lasted as long. It was basically the original series but re-titled. Couple of good episodes, the best one being where Batman hallucinates and thinks he's killed everyone. Sounds silly, but it amazing.

The New Batman Adventures followed, introducing a new Robin, Batgirl, and Dick Grayson became Nightwing. The designs changed for a lot of characters, but it was still considered canon and continuity from the original series.

Finally there was Batman Beyond, which is very underrated IMO. Based in future Gotham City and Bruce Wayne has given up being Batman, leaving a new kids to take over. Was just as awesome as BTAS and almost completely original material. It went from a TV show, into a DC comic.

The movies that came from the show are all excellent, Mask of the Phantasm gives the Batman origin for the animated series. The best movie they had was Return of the Joker, which in fairness was a movie after Batman Beyond but explained how Batman hung up his cape in the series. Seek out the uncut version online.

Fun Fact: Harley Quinn is a creation of the animated series, and a lot of characters designs and stories were changed in the comics to match the ones in the animated series.

Must say the joker in the tv ad for it looks more like the penguin in his build. As for the dvds I got the Volume 1 & 2 on adverts but both have different dvd regions, I think only volume 1 was released over here. I think the entire tv series is spread out over the 3 volumes.

lol what makes u say that mitch :pac:

after the Nostalgia Critic did a Top 11 Batman : The Animated Series episodes (the awesome 90s cartoon) I decided to check a few out. They're impressive for the 90s and for a kid's cartoon but I can't find them engaging anymore but definitely worth checking out to see.

I watched Batman vs Dracula (how couldn't I!) but not my cup of tea. Arkham Asylum was absolutely fantastic though, everything about it was top notch, from the storyline & game mechanics. I loved how it was Batman, but nothing like the newer films. The voice acting and the way you went about the bosses were fantastic, especially dealing with Scarecrow. A must play in my book. Definitely weaved a rich tapestry; i'll be playing the sequel sometime down the line; kind of a full schedule for 2011 tho :p

My niece is going to that Batman in the 02 deeley, she's a massive batman fan, i'll let u know how that goes. Worried there's too much singing in it for my liking, lol

Please do let ous know how the show is. Is it only on too sat.

What other games are people here looking forward to besides Arkham City? I've never played Asylum yet so must pick that up.

Got the Battlefield 3 beta today and it's great. Will most likely pick up Skyrim and Rage aswell.

Currently replaying some of the Resident Evils and starting on Gears of War for the first time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,014 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

I'm currently playing Dead Space 2 (brilliant - terrifying!) and DKC Returns (Wii) co-op with my bro.

Rest of 2011 will be rounded out by Gears 2 co-op, Zelda : Skyward Sword and Uncharted 2! I'll definitely get around to Batman 2 at some point but the last one (amazing, btw) I only played 2 years ago. Generally unless it's Zelda I play games maybe 6m-1y late, get them for much cheaper.

If you haven't done so already, check out Mortal Kombat (2011) and Portal 2; opposite ends of the gaming spectrum but both AAA games in my book. I couldn't believe I played an MK game that trumps the nostalgia-fuelled awesomeness of MKII. Portal 2 should be played by secondary school students for it's lateral thinking and puzzle solving! (as well as the fantastic rewarding feeling of completing a puzzle)

Not my cup of tea but I'm sure Skyrim will guzzle 10s of hours of your life; how's RAGE shaping up?

I know I'm getting FIFA 12 on Friday. I'm undecided between the new Need for Speed or the new SSX game

Saints Row 3, Fifa 12 and NBA 2K12 are my most anticipated games.

I always say i'm not getting Call of Duty but then buy into the hype but I can safely say I wont be getting it this year. The only good one was Call of Duty 4 IMO. The last few have been rubbish.

Don't touch Need for Speed it looks abysmal. The new SSX does look great even the controversial new additions I think could be a very nice touch. I'll be picking up FIFA & hoping that they got around to doing Luis Suarez likeness. The number of my posts in the Arkham City thread says how much i'm anticipating it. After that there is a bomb of titles i'm keeping a eye on Rage, Skyrim, Uncharted 3 & a few 3DS games
