Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Are they building another platform that leads off towards Dunboyne?

    Yes. To enable a shuttle service to not block a through line.

    They weren't planning to run a shuttle service... still should have ensured there were platform faces on the junction though.

    There are two sets of works - one outside on the road and a second set at the station.

    The first is the construction of the Traffic Management Scheme at Hansfield Road, Clonsilla.. and the associated Portersgate Estate Parking Management Scheme. The Hansfield Road scheme provides for the provision of parking places along both sides of the road, the signalization of the Hansfield road/Clonsilla Road Junction and associated footpath and cycle track work. The Portersgate Scheme provides for the introduction of short term Pay and Display Parking within the Estate.

    The second is IE's station improvement works which involve a new footbridge with lifts, a bay platform at the northwestern end for off-peak M3 Shuttle services, and will also include a new entrance to the station further west along the platform by the new footbridge which will avoid the current canal bridge altogether.

    The original plan was that this service would be carrying people through to Navan on direct service (and maybe some Tara traffic too) - the double track spec is higher than say Glounthaune-Midleton which is only single track.

    The combo of falling demand, the failure to get Hansfield open on day 1 (I know there are various players in that but IE own some blame), the Navan extension delays (again many players including Dempsey and the war over where the line would pass near Dunshaughlin) and the unpopularity of Docklands means the justification for direct service is lower - transferring to Clonsilla will get people to Connolly albeit possibly without the seat they might have had on a direct run.

    There are apparently works being done at most Maynooth line stations (presumably except Broombridge...) - posters up for "Maynooth Line Station Improvement Scheme" at stations since midweek.

    well the new timetable might change things!

    from today, weekend services from m3 parkway will call at all statioms to pearse.

    the only time m3 parkway services will run to docklands will be 7am-9am and 4pm-7pm, all other times they will run either to connolly/pearse or to clonsilla ie after 7.30 weekdays similar to saggart luas services
