    1. Very sad to hear about her death. Like many have said, it really was only a matter of time. Such a shame to see a talent destroyed like that from drugs and drink. I'm not claiming she was a genius but she sure had talent. RIP Amy.

    2. What is with the self righteous people moaning about anyone showing sympathy towards Amy and her family? Yes, the tragedy in Norway is horrific and I am not comparing it to this. Why on earth should it be compared? It's not a ****ing competition. When someone dies from drink/drug/suicide/whatever, do you immediately say ''meh they wasted their lives. oh well, it's not as bad as the holocaust blah blah blah"

    Seriously. Show some respect :(

Rip amy winehouse and as above.

If you didn't care before it's probably too late to start. Move along.

As for the taking photos of dead bodies, that's morbid, voyeuristic and disgusting. Would the word schadenfreude be appropriate here? I've always wanted to use it.

You seriously don't know who she was?

Some sort of singer I believe. Never really heard of her up until this point.

Anyway, RIP and all that. Death is not a nice thing irrespective of my ignorance.

And you should care because she was an amazing talent that had so much more to offer the world!

No need to be an a-hole, regardless. 27 is way too young to die!!!
Thanks but i'm not. Just giving my opinion it's not like her family post here.

Just an odd coincidence where musicians die aged 27
    Jim Morrison
    Janis Joplin
    Jimi Hendrix
    Kurt Cobain

And Brian Jones. That is the list.

EDIT: Also, Cobain broke the "J" coincidence

Shocking is when you go on youtube and see the difference between her in 2003/5 and then after the 2nd album and then playing a concert in Serbia last month.

We all know people drink or drugs have destroyed, yet the media in parts seemed to take some glee in her demise over the years , sickening.

I've always felt sorry for this girl when I saw articles in the paper etc in recent years, and wondered why no one was helping her or trying to sort her out, but I guess there were those people, you have to want the help :(

Great vocalist with a most distinctive style, all too rare.

Why some folks feel compelled to make countless contributions to a thread such as this truly baffles me, ah well.

    RIP

She had a rawness & honesty in her voice that made her stand out from the crowd.
She was a seriously talented lady.

I'm going to miss hearing new material from her. RIP.

Tbh it's completely hypocritical to be praising Amy Winehouse and calling Pete Doherty a scumbag.

They both chose to destroy thier lives with drugs even though they could've afforded the best treatment available.

Kate Moss is another one..celebrity junkies idolised by the proles.

The world?? The only thing she Offered was money to drug dealers.

And if you call a white woman being able to sing a bit like a black woman an "amazing talent" you probably need to get out more.

Funny, a lot of excessive rock stars have been mentioned in this thread, but only the modern ones are getting this kind of crap thrown at them, lay it off, the girl died, it's a tragedy for her nearest and dearest, leave it at that, at least until the dust settles.

Yeah, they both woke up one day and decided "hey, I think I'll destroy my life with drugs from today, that sounds like fun". It's never ever ever as simple as that.

It was only a matter of time really.

Em..is that not the case for everyone on the planet?
