Tbh Leinster deserve better that some of the other magners teams.

Leinster staying with Canterbury is obviously profitable, otherwise the partnership wouldn't continue. I would imagine it's all about money, if Leinster could get a better deal elsewhere they'd take it.

Does anyone know when the current Canterbury deal started and when it ends? Leinster's stock has obviously risen an awful lot in the last three years.

The last I had heard is that the current deal with Canterbury expires in 2012. Does anyone know if that has been extended or otherwise? The new jersey this season could indicate that the contract is to be extended, not definite though.

Leinster surely attracts more investment given the success and it's growth as a brand in it's own right over recent years.

    Just been officially announced:

YEAR 1: Andrew Boyle (wing), Jordan Coghlan (number eight), David Doyle (hooker), Tadhg Furlong (Prop), Conor Gilsenan (back row), Luke McGrath (scrum half), Martin Moore (prop), Colm O’Shea (centre), Michael Sherlock (centre), James Tracy (prop)

Coghlan, Gilsenan and McGrath will be pushing for Magners League starts this year. Not sure about the rest

Disgusted. Absolutely disgsted. Too many fatties! Where are the Leinster backs?!

Seriously though, I'm very happy with that selection. I was concerned Moore would miss out due to his injury which caused him to miss the WC but obviously his class has shone through. He was immense in the U20 6N. Two of the Clongowes back row straight in from school including Coghlan who was tipped to go to Munster at one point. Some seriously promising players in that first year group. The future is blue (with a big manky harp across it)!

coghlan and gilsenan will be getting nowhere near a magners league team!!!

Well OK if McLoughlin and Jennings go to the World Cup along with SOB and Heaslip, who else do Leinster have in the back row apart from Ryan and Ruddock? Jordi Murphy? Who else?

you've answered your own question - McLaughlin and Jennings both very unlikely to go...

It would be ridiculous if neither of them went, but I would say that it is likely that only one will travel. That would require Ryan & Leamy to both travel, which would be daft. Leamy couldn't make the Munster team, so it would be daft to bring him. Especially when the only 7 in the squad is Wallace.

Reagrdless, even if Ferris is fit enough to make the 30 man squad, he'll inevitably get injured and replaced at some stage. Sad, but he has an awful poblem with his knee now.

One of Jennings/McLoughlin + Ryan & Ruddock will be an excellent back row, considering.

Is it time Leinster moved away from Canterbury?

They seem to churn out three (boring) templates for jerseys every season then share them around all the teams they provide kit for.

sadly, isn't that the way it is for all rugby kit? clubs just don't have the million + sales of the big football "franchises" (or national teams) to justify the design and manufacture spend, so changing the colour etc. on standard templates means more money for all clubs / kit vendors generally. socialism works!

Have to say I really like the new Leinster one much prefer the darker blue and yellow strip.

Bought it today, looks class in real life. €85 for the test version €65 for the standard version.

Tip if you're getting the test version, go a size up ;)

Defo, even if you're a fiddle the "sprayed on" look doesn't suit many...

So Jennings/McLoughlin + Ryan & Ruddock will be our back row for the ML during the WC. What about if there's injuries? what about our bench options? Jordi Murphy?

I'd say Coghlan and Gilseanan will push for spots on the bench dyrubg tge wc but I expect to see starts from them

Yeah Jordi Murphy would probably be the main back up but other than that they would be likely to play Auva or Marshall before throwing a guy straight into Pro12 from school. Its a huge step up when they've had no experience at Under 20, A's or B&I Cup and would have only been training with the squad for a couple of weeks.

Just saw this now. Leo Avuva'a will be required by Leinster at various stages of the season.

Will he really? I think we all know who the first 6 choices in the back row are, Heaslip, SOB, Kev, Jennings, Ryan, Ruddock. But after that there is other depth in the system I mean Murphy and Marshall are 20 and 21 and should really be ahead of a semi-professional journeyman if they intend on making it as professional rugby players. Magners League game time is needed.

For the B&I cup Gilseanan and Coghlan should be getting a game with Marshall and Murphy. Hopefully the B&I cup will be scheduled so that if won't happen when the Internationals are missing from the Leinster set up and the normal A players are in the senior team.

Anyone check out Cian Healy's DJ'n skills at Oxegen?

He does very little DJing from what I've heard, Gordo Brennan does the DJing while "Church" just jumps around and has fun. Sweet deal in fairness.

I saw him DJ'ing up close with gordoj once, I don't know a whole lot about it but I think he was doing a good bit, saying he just jumps around is a bit harsh!

'Church' has just pointed out that the Hedild reckoned that Gordoj was Darcy!

No disrespect to the guy but anyone who is into dj'ing can see he is doing little or nothing. Shocking music as well in fairness. If he can get away with it i suppose why not but its a bit like the Amanda Brunker thiing imo.

Jaysus I don't know jack sh1t about dj ing but even I can tell he's doing shag all. Faintly embarrassing.
