Made these today, well I finished them today
2" amboyna burl plugs with sayagata design. It melted my eyes
Bit of info on the design;Sayagata" is a kind of geometric design with a series of fylfot (卍 Manji - key fret - swastika - Buddhist cross) patterns. Because the pattern was similar to silk fabrics brought to Japan from China which was called "Saya" in Edo Era, people started to call it Saya-gata (Saya pattern).
The fylfot pattern has taken root as a map symbol which stands for Buddhist temples in Japan. It is a classical pictogram which came from the shape of Hindu God of love Vishnu’s chest hair, and it stands for a good omen and virtue.

we have had siamese cats all of my life, and my mum was a night nurse for 24 years - and is still a nurse to this day. I hope to purchase him at some stage!

Video makes me wanna take up painting, but then I remember I suck at painting/drawing so bad!
Here's a piece I was asked to make for a jeweller. It's a display box in walnut for a lovely piece of jewellery. I'm not allowed show the jewellery yet but can show ye the box. Need to inlay some silver wire into it to hold the jewellery and then it will be 100% finished

Here's some pictures with the piece of jewellery in it. The medallion is made by Jlb Jewellery. I can't remember the name of the photographer, will find out. I just made the box and inlayed some silver wire and stuff into it. The rest was all Jlb
