dennis leamy has gotten the all clear for the final. now he just has to hope he gets picked.

i thought wallace and coughlan in particular were very good last night.

Munster flank Denis Leamy received the all clear following a scan on his neck, and should be fit for the Magners League final.

Munster will meet Irish rivals Leinster to decide the Magners League title after claiming an 18-11 victory in their semi-final with the Ospreys on Saturday.

Leamy came on as a 60th minute replacement for James Coughlan but was then forced off in the 73rd minute with a neck injury that saw him end up in the Regional Hospital where he was detained overnight pending the scan.

I'd be fairly confident Munster vs Leinster will sell out, but it will depend a lot on how many away fans travel to Thomond.

Leinster have not taken up their full allocation

    Money money money I'd imagine.

The Semi against Ulster, the Final in Cardiff.......then this in Thomond. Just a little expensive being a Leinster supporter these days.

Leinster fans would want to make the most of their place in the sun - while they can - before normal service resumes. :D

Well their full allocation was something like 12,000 tickets, and they're still on sale to season ticket holders.

They had returned some on Saturday evening.

Yeah, they didn't return any. They refused to take up their full allocation. And enough that the MRSC could offer a ticket to all members, including Associate Members, without them having to go through a lottery.

Quinny opens up about anxiety and depression which have affected him.

Horrible illness by all accounts and very common here. It's not known as the Celtic disease for nothing. Great to see that he's coping with it and getting on with life.

All full and associate members have been offered an additional 4 tickets each on a first come basis aswell, tickets obv not in very high demand

Aye, it's tough to deal with. Fortunately the life of a professional rugby player is probably the best to have when dealing with it. Regular days, up early, plenty of exercise, forced to eat well, and plenty of time for rest. The only downsides of it are the pressure and going on trips away. Although with the support of a team the trips away shouldn't even be that bad.

I'm neither, and was just in Thomond Park for the second time last weekend. Went with a friend who's in a wheelchair (had the best seats in the house.) We've been told we're more than likely to get tickets for the final, but I'll still be nervous until I have them in my hands. Thomond Park is genuinely a great place to be in. Absolutely loved my time there last week, so I'm surprised at the lack of people wanting to go. Maybe people who went there all through the good years have just become used to it. But I don't know if the buzz of being there will ever die down in me.

You'll have no problem getting them they will be on public sale by the weekend I'd guess.

Barry Murphy became the third Munster player to announce his retirement from the professional game in recent weeks following on from that of Alan Quinlan and Ian Dowling.
Like Dowling, Murphy's decision was forced on him through injury, in the UL Bohemian man's case a metatarsal in his left foot ultimately proving too troublesome to continue.

And like Dowling it was in season 2005/06 that Murphy announced himself to the Munster public when he made the number 13 jersey his own ahead of Trevor Halstead, Rob Henderson & League import Gary Connolly. In producing a Man of the Match performance against Sale Sharks he scored a 50 metre try but his season ended with a horrific ankle injury in Ravenhill a few weeks later and he remained sidelined until October of that year.

On his return he played most of the remainder of the 06/07 season in the number 13 shirt but since then injury robbed Munster of one of their brighest talents. His stated intention is to take further medical advice with a view to returning at some stage to the amateur game and he remains totally positive about his career despite the diasppointment of it's premature curtailment.

"People say to me I've been unlucky and while I appreciate what they mean I don't see it that way. The past 7/8 years have been a wonderful time in my life, playing with Munster. I've made loads of friends here in this squad, enjoyed some great times and I wouldn't trade a moment of it."

He won 71 caps for Munster scoring 12 tries, 6 of those in the Heineken Cup and he also scored a try against the All Blacks in Thomond Park Stadium in 2008.

Meanwhile it has been confirmed that Laurie Fisher will join up with World Cup winning coach Jake White at the Brumbies when he returns to Australia.

Another player down due to injury. How many is that over the past two years?

Shame to see hm go, with our current centre options, we could have done worse than have him in the 13`spot. At least he'll have a HC medal to look back on and a try against the ABs, the only one scored that year against them in the NH.

Sad to see this, still proved he had the gas and ability if fit especially this season against Ulster. Who knows a year or two he might be back playing decent rugby again.

Very disappointing to hear this. The guy has a great attitude and was always a serious talent. Best of luck to him in the future, whatever he decides to do.

Sad to hear that he has retired. With the injuries he has had its not a huge surprise. Hopefully he can get back to playing for UL Bohs at amateur level though.

I only met him once or twice but he came across as a very decent guy.

Were does that leave Munster at centre though? Tuitupu is leaving, earls is best on the wing, so at the moment does that just leave Mafi, Barnes, Dineen and Gleeson?

Add Deasy to the list (although he can also play 10 and 15) I think his best position is 12

Surely there will be a marquee signing in the center. Unfortunately J Murphy has played center a couple of times this season and may get significant game time there next season

The news about Murphy is horrible. He is an extremely talented player who never reached his potential due to injury. He had all the skills but, he didn't have the body to cope with the professional game.

The injury problems in the Munster team are unbelievable too. Both Dowling and Murphy have had to retire due to injury before their 30th birthdays. Then you have the Flannery's ongoing struggles. Then we have a long list of players like: Da. Hurley, Horan, POC, Leamy, TOL and Jones, who have all missed serious chunks of their careers to injury.

We really need to make a good attempt at winning the league and some good signings to keep morale high amongst supporters and possibly the team.

    Oh please god no.
Deasy has, IMO, been one of the most dissapointing players that Munster have brought through. He dosnt control the game at 10 and his defence and tackling are very below par. From rewatching games this season, I have noticed that it is almost guaranteed that Deasy will miss at least one tackle that results in a try for the opposing team in every game, not to mention missed tackles that dont turn into tries.
Ill admit he can look very sharp running with ball in hand, but he is Very poor in defence.

I wouldn't say Munsters injury list is any worse then any of the other provinces

I don't think he'll be back tbh, he's had a run of injuries since he left school, even before 2006 he'd missed a lot of time through injury. He just doesn't have a body capable of pro rugby, terribly sad.

BM has been very unlucky with injury. Very talented player who is correct to retire because his body isn't robust enough for rugby.

Thats Murphy, Dowling and Quinlan retired. Tuitupou, Dave Ryan, Buckley and Warwick leaving too and a few others will be offski. It'll freshen up the squad which will be good for Munster. Hopefully a few more fringe squad players will be left go.

Mike Kelleher is seemingly going to Young Munsters, he got a few A games when he just left school, he's still only 20 or so, maybe he's looking for an Academy place? Fair play to him for sticking with Richmond but from a career point of view (if he wants one, maybe he doesn't) it's better that he playing with Munsters.

While not entirely unexpected Murphy's retirement is still a blow, he showed on numberous occasions that he had someting special. I suppose my favourite moment of his career would have to be that "Sale Try"

Himself and Dowling still had a lot to offer Munster, shame they had to exit from the game through injury.

Best of luck to the two of you.

Does the forward coaches have mush of a say in team selection? I'm hoping Foley will pick POM and Butler more next season.

I'd say that it depends on the head coach. A lot of head coaches would delegate a lot of selection decisions to the head coach, while others would make the decisions while expecting the forwards coach to look after training

So when Munster came to train in Waterford I had my Munster jersey signed by three players....Alan Quinlan, Ian Dowling and Barry Murphy. Since I got that jersey signed Quinlan, Dowling and Murphy have all retired.....the jersey is cursed!!
