Getting guidance as an independent researcher

Hi all, I'm researching independently but need some help and guidance. I wonder if there is some standard way of soliciting help from academics with specialized knowledge, I am more than willing to pay them for their time. Any thoughts? The field is experimental psychology (auditory cognition).

The field is experimental psychology (auditory cognition).

Just email them and ask them questions. That's what I do. Some are very helpful, some will ignore you.
