Same here, imagine when the rain comes this weekend, it'll be like or even worse than this time last year when the rain froze to everything (We had ice on the road as high as the kerb). The ground is frozen way down at this time.

Temp now down to -14.1c here now snaps. Serious stuff.

After that brief passage of milder air yesterday evening that almost brought the temp up to zero it is now the usual -8C for this time of day. (5km from the coast with an onshore drift).

More snow overnight; about 5cm. Haven't been out with me ruler yet......;)

Merrion St. Dublin, clear skies, no breeze to speak of, currently -4.9C

Leaving Greystones at 06:40 this morning there was a mild breeze coming in off the sea, temp was -0.7C (probably the warmest it's been all week so far) with partial cloud cover. Very little new snow overnight, maybe 1cm.

Noon temp reading on my weather station here in the temperate climes of the west:

    noontemp.jpg

I think after this 3 days spell of severely low temperatures, anything closer to 0.0c will feel tropical

it feels balmy at -1c now. this day next week it'll be warm enough for shorts and a t-shirt! i wonder will any of the snow hang on to the next potential cold spell? i have been playing the rocky movies constantly to encourage the snow to put up a good fight.
