The Irishman (Scorsese, De Niro, Pesci and Pacino)

Al Pacino and Joe Pesci will join Robert De Niro in crime drama The Irishman.
Directed by Martin Scorsese, Irishman will be De Niro’s ninth time working with the legendary auteur, and finds the actor playing renowned Mafia hitman Frank ‘The Irishman’ Sheeran.
Both Pacino and Pesci were rumoured to be involved, but De Niro confirmed it once and for all during an interview with MTV.
“We do have the one that we’re definitely doing,” he told them. “Me, Joe Pesci, Pacino and Marty Scorsese directing.”

being honest could care less about pacino and de niro its all about joe pesci the mans a legend its a shame he retired from acting for so long hes a legend and in my opinion the best supporting actor ever.

This will be "The Expendables" for mob movies.................except done right. You can't screw up with DeNiro, Pesci, Scorsesse........................and isn't this the 1st time Scorsesse will be directing Pacino?

If it was just another Pacino / DeNiro movie I wouldn't be half as interested. But throw in Pesci and Scrosesse......................aaaay, fugged-about it!!

That's what the Mafia used to say to him when inquiring about some hits work being done.

This, I will definitely watch it, although it seems like it's being done because Pacino and De Niro's careers are going downhill a little.

Thats the name of the book the film is based on and is supposed to be the first words Jimmy Hoffa said to him.it's a good book and with the people involved in the film I would have high hopes for the this.

This is brilliant news. Heard the rumors a good while back but to have Bob himself confirm it is fantastic. It's shocking that Scorsese and Pacino have never worked together before - bizzare in fact considering along with De Niro, Pacino is one of the all time greatest gangster actors and Scorsese is the king of directing gangster films. You would think they would have worked together in the 70s or 80s when they were at their peak. A shame really but at least we will finally get to see it now. Joe Pecsi has been sorely missed from acting too - absolute legend.

The last DeNiro/Pacino film 'Righteous kill' was a huge let down mainly due to a poor script and a **** director - I said at the time had Scorsese or Mann directed it, it would have turned out far better. At least they can make up for it with 'The Irishman'.:)

I don't care much for De Niro and Pacino together, after the somewhat disappointment of Righteous Kill. Pesci though, he's superb. Hopefully with him added this will be a great movie.

This is just getting ridiculous. As if the amazing cast for Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman wasn’t good enough, then star Robert De Niro is here to assure you that it is. Apparently at the premiere last night of Little Fockers, he was speaking to Roger Friedman of Showbiz411 (via Cinematical) and slipped the detail that his Mean Streets and Taxi Driver (along with frequent solo Scorsese collaborator) co-star Harvey Keitel, also in Fockers, would be jumping on board to star in it as well.

The specifics are…well, not specific at all. Apparently he only said that Keitel is joining him and the rest of the cast, and that they’re “doing it”. While not exactly a lot to go off of, if it is in fact true then I would be getting even more excited.

Have a look at this interview - De Niro and Dustin Hoffman on Letterman. Hilarious stuff - Bobby certainly doesn't like doing interviews.

He briefly mentions 'The Irishman' in the second part. I like Lettermans's idea of a film with all the main actors from that era - would be fantastic if Hoffman, Gene Hackman and Jack Nicholson would join the cast of 'The Irishman' too. Nicholson would certainly be free considering he is semi-retired and hasn't had a leading role since 2007. Hackman is retired though but it would be the perfect film for him to make a return to acting. He shouldn't go out with his final film being that dreadful comedy Welcome To Mooseport.:rolleyes:

I know they have made some great films, but to spend the interview mentioning films they have been in....they made the films, I'm sure they know which ones they were in.

Maybe that's why they weren't too into the interview, they were probably thinking that Letterman is a twat.
