    M.T. Cranium expected most of the snow for Tuesday. I quote aforementioned forecaster's prediction for today:

    "and there will be a slight risk of streamers developing around Dublin and Wicklow, and these may contain sleet or hail as well as snow"

    There is going to be a mix of precipitation types until the cold air digs in tomorrow morning.

    I could kill Met eireann for giving such a sensationalist alarm for coastal parts of Leinster...

    I hope it either all melts quickly or we get loads of snow. I don't want a bloody sleety or else icy period. Those are both crap options. Loads of snow though would be good for Dublin, but the increasing pessimism by those in the know here isn't making that look too likely.

    i guess we're all still kids at heart when it starts falling, then quickly grow up when we start to drive in it.

    If history is anything to go by, we get snow at night in Dublin. Typically.

    The closer to night the greater the chances of snow.

    It seems that we will have 10 - 20cm of snow tonight in East Dublin!

    All I can say is waking up tomorrow will be like christmas morning... run downstairs to look out the window and see what father snowmas has left us :D

    Excellent news, the temperatures at the M2 buoy and IoM airport have dropped about half a degree from 1pm to 2pm. The next few hours as they say are crucial;)

    The drop at M2 could be because of increased cloud cover, but there's clear skies over IoM currently. If the IoM temperature stays at around 2 degrees, many eastern places immediately away from the coast should see the odd wet snow or snow showers over the afternoon.

    that's not even a foot of snow...

    how do you guys handle it anyway?
    I still walk to the train 3 miles away with up to 1 foot (30cm) of snow...


    I always see these crazy videos of people in the UK trying to drive in the snow or ice... don't you guys put snow tires on?

    9 inches of snow won't even close schools around here.

    At the same time, we're outfit for snow in New England... salter/sanders and plows... most people run all-seasons or snow tires at this point

    It gives a prediction for inland locations, and then separate predictions for 3 entire counties. Nowhere does it mention that it won't snow much along the coast of Louth, Dublin or Wicklow.
