Will it ever match the old one?

    No!

I'm gonna be pedantic here (take note Mike :D), Radio Nova is not back. There is no direct lineage to the ownership of the original station. Therefor, it is only a copy of the 1980's station. A pretender, if you wish.

To further the pedantary, Big D, Radio Dublin and ARD were all on FM, IIRC. Indeed ARD put out a fine signal across on around 99.9 or 100 at that time.

I understand Chris Careys widow is unhappy that the name is being used in the context of a Dublin station.

We will see if they try to copy original logos and signiture tunes.

Radio Nova was alsoa popular name for a radio station abroad long before Chris Cary took it on.

    Yes, abroad.......

Take a look at their Facebook page to see just how similar their logo is to the original.

Tests have been live for the past few days. Shows up as NOVA on RDS. They also have a website up at http://www.nova.ie/ - the logo is extremely similar to the original.
