I think that storm between wicklow and wexford has some descent energy in it, and the dublin coast storm will fizzle due to cooler sst's from the irish sea. I hope i am wrong though.

    And thunder and lightning.

Didn't see any lightning at all tonight and haven't heard any rumbles for over half an hour. I think the activity is more to the east and north of me now.

    This gives a good explanation

Just looking at that pdf , and theres a nice little map showing lightning density around the world. Amazing to see how much Central Africa gets, and SE Asia. Looking at Ireland though and its pretty grim..

Seems to be more of an inland affair though

Great to hear it's kicking off up here! I wasn't expecting much. Was just out putting the tags on the bin and it's bucketing but saw no lightening. Mind you, the rain was so heavy I wasn't really hanging around watching the skies too hard!
