How many applications did you send for a PhD, or master's degree? It looks as if I make more than 20 PhD applications this year, and still counting! Difficult to find a right supervisor though.

I'm in the exact same boat buddy. It's tough with the lack of funding available and the colossal number of applications.Keep trying though;)

Well, it's not really about funding, but about finding a right supervisor, etc. Good luck!

And I thought I was bad with 6! I would have applied to a few more, but I didn't want to keep bugging my referees since they usually had to write a new reference each time.

Did all those applications not cost a lot of money?

Wow that's a lot! I went the more informal route of approaching my now-supervisor after a lecture.

Most of the PhD (on-line) applications are free, particularly in the UK.
