Ok, life has been a bit crazy recently and I've been a bit remiss on the Noclight threads, apologies.

Thanks to Karma (and Kharn) for getting us back on track last week! :)

This week, we have the inimitable, the enigmatic, the guy with the plastic pecs who just loves to smoke a big cigar! >_>

    ... it's Galvasean!!

So that's how it feels being asked that...

It is, the amazing Therizinosaurus cheloniformis, about the size of a T.rex with claws as long as a man's arm. Kind of like a cross between a massive turkey and a bear.

Do you find the constant comparison to the Van Der Beek detrimental to your mental health?

It used to drive me mental. Now I just roll with it.
I am confident in who I am... a washed up 90s teen soap opera star lookalike.

Well I've loved them since I was a kid, like most. I guess I just never grew out of them. In fact, I think it's sad that when most people grow up they forget about all the deadly stuff, like dinosaurs and cartoons.
    koth wrote:

As in my first ever gig that I played? It was bleedin' crap! I cringe at the very thought.

If I can only pick one I'd probably pick Canada. Check out the museum with all the dinosaurs in it! :D

Brilliant! We raised over €1,200 for the Santa Strike Force. All the comics did a good job. Nobody died on their hole like.
I was originally in line to close the first half of the show, but our opening act (who is deadly funny) pulled out at the last minute, so I was put on first. Less time to go over my material than I would have liked (between that and myself and Grames running around all day like headless chickens trying to solve every problem known to man!), but I managed to get through the full set without having to check notes or forget too much. Kinda botched up one of my jokes (tripped over the wording). Some of my more 'offensive' or doirty material lost some of the audience who didn't like it, but as a wise man once said, "Doing a stand up gig is like going to war. Not everybody is going to be there with you at the end of it."
Overall i'm very pleased. Great audience who heckled consructively. I love that.
I must also say performing in shorts was nice n' breezey, kept my loins nice n' cool.
Also, big props to Doctor doom for lending us a hand with the sound!
    Jako8 wrote:

Delighted. 3 points away from home after coming from behind (ssh!) and back in the title race.

I'm pretty sure it was Ed Byrne when I was in 4th year (school not college).
    koth wrote:
    2. Favourite comedy gig you went to??

There have been some great ones, but Billy Connolly at the last Bulmers comedy fest edges it for me. He's my favourite comedian and the time just flew by!
    koth wrote:
    3. Your favourite moment doing your own comedy??

    It's a toss up between:
This one time I was playing in the Ha'Penny Bridge Inn and in the middle of my set some bugger in the front row decides to get up and go to the bathroom. So as he was walking away I said "Wait, don't go", and then started singing "If you leave me now, you'll take away the biggest part of me..." then all these girls in the audience joined in singing the "Oooooooooooo-oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh" bit. That surprised the heck out of me.
That and the time I played in Cuba (Galway) before PJ Gallagher in front of about 300 people. Such a fantastic night. It was one of those gigs were every joke just landed as intended. PJ told me after the show that he really enjoyed my set. He even gave me a lift! :D
    Koth wrote:
    4. And what advice would you give someone thinking of giving standup a try??

Hmmm, I would say don't get pissed before the gig. Seriously, I have seen way too many first timers get nervous and have 8 pints before going on stage only to forget all of their material and make a complete hash of it.
It's a terrible shame, since I havent seen the aforementioned comics since. They probably gave up and packed it in. Who knows? some of them may have been good but the world will never know because they made a foolish mistake, effectively killing their career before it could get going.

    First question ... tell!! :p

What can I say, it involved the wearing of togas!
I was doing a part in a play (the secret's out!) and there was an after party. Not quite sure why, but some of us somehow ended up in Dublin's most popular gay bar. Nevertheless I got some hot female action chicks love the togas). At least I think she was female!
    Randy wrote:

Arent they normally 3 parts? But I digress...
    randy wrote:

Acting is weird. I did a couple of plays in school (I was Marcellus in Hamlet, "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark), but thought nothing of it.
When I ended up doing Film in college for various projects we'd have to pool what little resources we had, acting in each others' shorts etc.
I do sound recording now, but always get roped into doing cameos. People see the cameos and say, "Oh we've got to put that guy in our show!" so i end up ding really weird stuff.
    Last few roles were:
Euripedes, the Greek playright (in a play)
An out of work mustached superhero (TV pilot about aliens)
Some guy who gets eaten by a zombie (find out more here. *shameless plug*
I was a soldier in some radio play about global warming gone awry.
Oh and I'll have abrief cameo in Season 4 of the Tudors.

    1.Do you like george michel?

    Yes.
    Ais wrote:
    2.Favourite wham song?

Not really a fan of Wham. I prefer George's solo work.
    Faith being my favourite.

    Did you like bosco?

Wasn't a big fan. Preferred watching cartoons.
4.Can you speak any other languages?

I used to speak a decent amount of German. Alas, it's virtualy all gone through lack of use.
5.What are your plans for tomorow?

Good question. I have a day off work, so probably nothing.
    6.Excited for christmas?

A bit. I don't get very excited until it's closer. that said, i did watch Miracle on 34th Stret today. :o
    7.How much do you weigh?

Not sure. i generally don't weigh myself. Probably not a lot. I could do with gaining some weight.
    8. 3 things you like in a girl are.....

    Tits, legs n' ass!!!! :pac:
But seriously, intelligence is a turn on for me. Can't stand to be 'with' an idiot, even if tehy are smokin' hawt.
She needs to be a bit out of the ordinary, ie: not plain or boring.
And yes, I am a bit shallow, so good looks are important too. Can't help but like what I like.
    9.Whats been your favourite holiday?

Florida when i was a kid. I got to wrestle an alligator (at Gatorland zoo) and visit Jurassic Park (in Universal studios)!!!!
10.Where do you want to go in the world?

    The top.
11.Do you play any computer games?

I'm not as avid a gamer as I used to be. I still play Football manager and Dawn of War. Plus, the odd bit of Wii.
    12.Do you like animals?

Is the space pope reptilian? (he is)
    13.Any pets?

    A yorkshire terrier named Skipper.

    Green.
15.Any opinions on whos to win the xfactor?

Haven'ta clue. I never watch that crap.
    16.Is your christmas tree up?

Not yet. Living room is under construction. Need to make space for it. hopefully it will be up at some point next week.
17.whats your favourite item of clothing that you own?

    My Arsenal hoodie. Soo snug.
    18.Choclate or sweets?

    Can't I have both?
19.Ever have any dental work done?

Had a couple of fillings when I was a kid. Also had root canal due to an opsis a couple of years ago. I must say the opsis was teh single most painful experience of my life.
20.Would you like to get married?

Not so sure about the whole church thing. But yes, I would some day like to settle down with that special female.
    21.5 celebrities you would?

Shakira, Charlize Theron, Liz hurley, Sarah Palin Michelle Gellar, Heather Graham.
22.did ya miss me on my tour of absence?

    U wuz gone?
Ah but seriously, yeah. We missed you at the Haloween beers.
23.What was your favourite school subject?

English in 6th year, because my teacher was insane. Great guy. Wore ti-dye t-shirts and liked my theory on how Han Solo and the lead from Witness are basically the same guy.
24.Would you be more scared or terrified if you saw a real life
    dinosaur?

You mean birds? I see them all the time. They are totally known to me. No fear.
    25.do you like fruit?

I'm not a huge fan, but a bit now and then.
26.On a night out you drink?

Yes. I enjoy various beers. Tiger, Heineken, Smithwicks, Cobra, Miller, Castle, Duvel, Corona to name a few. Also like Southy n' red or Jameson or dark rum n' coke.
27.Any film youre lucking foreward to?

Oh how easy you make it for me to pimp my wares!
I'm really looking forward to Portrait of a Zombie which is out at some point next year (that's the one I worked on).
    Trailer:

That and Avatar. That's gonna be epic.
I'm also looking forward to I Love You Phillip Morris (starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor. Also, bad Boys 3, if Michael Bay gets around to it.
28.What did you want to be when you were little?

    A palaeontologist (dinosaur expert)
    29.Whats Santy bringing you?

    Coal.
    If I'm good maybe a blu-ray player
    30.Favourite resteraunt?

Ponderosa, the American buffet chain. Seriously you can have an all you can eat breakfast for like $4. Dinner is about $9. Fantastic food in infinate qualntities for practically nothing.
In Ireland though, there's a pretty cool Chinese buffet on Abbey St. where you get all you can eat for about 8 quid.
    31.Most recent embaressing moment?

Bumping into my out n' proud cousin in the George last night. He saw me *complete with toga) and yelled "I knew it!!!"
32.What do you think of lady gaga?

I think she's an attention seeking sap who needs to spend less time focusing on what stupid hat to wear and more time on writing some decent music.
33.Any opions on the tiger woods scandal?

What a friggin' idiot. I have no time for anybody who cheats on their partner. If you wanna have sex with different women all the time, don't get married and have a bunch of kids. Hope she takes him to the cleaners.
On a side note, not looking good for the Gilette ad campaign is it? First Thierry Henry, now Tiger Woods. Next week we'll probably read how Roger Federer runs an illegal midget brothel in his house.
    34.Did the budget effect you?

They took ten cent off the price of the pint. At the current rate of consumption I stand to save €5,000 per anum.
    35.how are you feeling/
Thanks for asking. You've made my day. :)
Sinus is still bad (been at me all week, missed a day of work), but I'm over the worst of it.
    36.Favourite cartoon?
    You haven't guessed?

    37.Pro-life or pro-choice?

Tough question. I wouldn't consider myself either. While I would be against the having of abortions in most cases, there are certain cases where it is the best option, like for example where the fetus grows outside the womb, which can end up killing both mother and child, it's the only logical solution.
I'm sure you've all heard in the news about that whole EU supreme court case. I think our government needs to think long and hard about our abortion laws.
    38.Do you like the beatles?

While I don't have any of their CDs I will listen to them if tehy are on the radio. Some of their songs are absolute class. I really like "Maybe I'm Amazed".
    39.ever try drugs?

Oh Ais, trying to get me infracted ;)

    Ais wrote:
    40.Do you like my questions?

Worst: New Moon! Just kidding, haven't seen it. In fact I haven't seen anything REALLY crap in the cinema this year. I mean Terminator Salvation and Revenge of the fallen werent exactly great films, but they were enjoyable. I'll go with Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus, despite ahving one stand out brilliant scene:

    Favourite cinema to visit?

I like Cineworld. Y'know, when not it's not full of knackers. I think it's the best tiered cinema in Dublin.
Best/worst present you've ever received? (not just Christmas!)

Well the best was that thing I mentioned in Lolly's questioning.
Worst would be the time someone (who shall remain nameless) gave me Man United stationary.
    Favourite flavour of crisps?

    Walkers Baked salt n' vinegar.
    Are you a hat person?

While I'm not opposed to wearing hats, I cant stand having to hear scumbags yell, "Hee-ur! Giz a go a yer hat!" Seriously not worth the effort.
    However...
    282134354a4337191147b866622718l.jpg
    Rise early or lie in?

You know what they say, 'early to bed and early to rise, gives you small penis size'.
I'm a fan of the lie in myself. Nothing good ever happens in the morning anyway.
    Can you drive?
    Nope.
    Ever ridden a horse?
Yeah a few times. Not recently though.
Are you any good at wrapping gifts?
Yeah.. and i dont like where this is going...
If money wasn't an issue, where would you like to live?

Alberta Canada. Diggin' up dinosaur bones.
Do you have a mug or cup in the house that specifically yours?

I had one, the mug I bought at the Emirates stadiumbut Jim dropped it!
Then i had another one, a souvenir from Spain with crocodiles on it. The handle broke clean off and I got scalded with boiling hot tea.
Salt and/or vinegar on your chips?

Bit of salt. Plenty of vinegar.

    1. If you could replace your head with that of any living thing or animal etc (excluding dinos) what would it be?

    2. Tell me a joke.

    3. Let's say, hypothetically, you're lactose intolerant. You are on a date with AliCat. She orders some vanilla milkshake and it arrives. She says "oh, my most favourite thing in the world would be to share my milkshake with the Galvmeister! Please join me...". What do you do?

    4. Nice Boobies or nice bums?

    5. Draw me a 5 minute sketch in paint/photoshop/etc and post it up here!
