Does anyone know will this season follow or lead into the Epitaph One story arch?

Series two will continue on from Omega. We will start to see the events leading up to Epitaph One unfold but the main arc will continue as it did in season one, just hopefully faster and more cohesively. There will also be episode(s) set in the future, probably Epitaph Two.

An epitaph is a short commemoration of the dead. So if you look at it that way it appears Epitaph One and any further tales are just vignettes set after the main arc.

Hopefully the cast additions will help boost the ratings.

Dollhouse makes room for cast additions

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - This fall, "Dollhouse" is going to be a geek-TV haven.
Josh Whedon, creator of the Fox series about a futuristic laboratory that rewrites people's memories, has chosen actors from the network's recently canceled "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" and Syfy's concluded "Battlestar Galactica" to join the show.
Most notably, he's recruited "Terminator" fan favorite Summer Glau, whom he previously cast in Fox's "Firefly." Glau plays Bennett, a Dollhouse employee who shares a secret past with Eliza Dushku's Echo.
Jamie Bamber (from "Battlestar") will appear as a charismatic businessman who is Echo's new husband. Michael Hogan ("Battlestar") comes to Dollhouse hoping to stop a psychotic family member's killing spree. Alexis Denisof ("Angel") is cast as a U.S. senator leading a witch hunt to track down the underground organization. Keith Carradine ("Dexter") plays the nemesis of Dollhouse leader Adelle.

Ha I'm shocked but happy that Whedon actually hired her. This will be the third Whedon show that Glau will be in.

It's good too that she won't be a "Doll" so to speak, because it would have been slightly boring to watch Glau play another mute.

    Tsk tsk. :p

It should be interesting to see who outshines the other between Dushku and Glau. These two will own the screen! :D :pac:

    Bump!...not long folks :-)
Smart move by Wheadon hiring Glau for the show...that move alone could bring in a few hundread thousand male fanboys :-)

Looking forward to season 2 now, it'll be interesting to see if Fox likes the ratings or if it gets green lit for a back 10 episodes in January or Febuary.

Maybe, maybe not. Wasn't pretty much everybody who was watching Dollhouse last year also watching T:SCC as well anyway? So it would still be the same viewers...

True, but T:TSCC was cancelled, so some migration should take place....one hopes.

Dollhouse has tapped spooky-cool Ray Wise to join the cast in the potentially recurring role of Howard, an intelligent higher-up in the Dollhouse who has huge presence and humor.

Wow!....cast keeps getting better!.....pooling all these popular characters from cancelled shows seems a smart move as those individual shows fans will want to watch their favourite characters on Dollhouse.

    Not long now!!!!!!!!

    Not long now.....can't wait!

OK, so just watched season 2 episode 1....i thought it was VERY average. We learned nothing further about the overall plot. I did like alot the Topher/Whiskey dynamic....that long scene where she tries to seduce him was rather good.

It showed off her potential and acting prowess...but all it served was to arrange her departure from the show???

What crap!....you could see some interesting plots and dynamics that could have developed if she stayed on, really sucks. DeWitt's haircut.....a hell no!, she was much hotter last season. Topher sleeping in a cot in the DH.....hmmm.

As for Ballard/Echo.....nothing new, yeah we got the gist she remembers previous imprints despite wiping, but didn't we know that?

She also seems to be able to access certain skills from previous imprints....that could come in handy later on, nice to see Apollo from BSG on the show. But overall i felt it was actually rather weak, no real humour or edge-of-seat stuff like last year.

For a season opener Wheadon needed to have kicked it off much stronger, as we all know last season suffered because the first five eps. sucked and it lost half it's audience.

Why make the same mistake? 2.5/5.

I was just about to move your post to the 2x01 thread, but the JW forum is under sci-fi, not Television. Balls... can you copy the text to the other thread?
