What's the point in labels really when the majority of teenagers change their styles every week when their mates do or whenever emo (not that it ever is) is considered cool?

Oh and there is no such thing as normal!!

well the people in the street shout 'mosher' or 'rocker' at me (and after asking a few and discovering they don't know what 'mosher' even means, i feel alot better)..but i personally consider myself a bit of a Nerd..but with a backwards N like on a kiddies lemonade stand. i spend most of my time reading or in the library finding things to read. i wear thick black-framed glasses and sweater-vest-like clothes alot too.so where 'rocker' is coming from, ill never know! i listen to lady gaga and blink 182!

Apparently I fall into the nerd/ emo sterotype....

I listen to My Chemical Romance (which I get a lot of name calling for) I listen to Blink 182, Paramore, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine, Evanescence, Sum 41, Angels And Airwaves, Eminem, Fall out boy, Foo Fighters, SOAD, Linken Park, Korn, Lost Prophets, Nirvana, Paramore, Stone Sour etc. Whatever clothes I wear I generally get called emo, I wear skinny jeans and hoodies most of the time and I'm really immature for my age, you can see my immaturity in public xD

I fall into the nerd sterotype because I have glasses, read a lot, don't get into huge trouble, I can use and understand big words (within reason) I think excessive drinking is stupid, I am quiet, don't make eye contact and don't like to be around more than 5 people at a time. I don't play sports. I have read all the Harry Potter books at least twice each, have all the released movies and I like spending time on my own thinking. Oh and I have the blackout blind in my room down a lot of the time.

+ 1. "Labels" are pointless. You put labels on cans of beans, not people. I don't go around with a big sticker on my forehead saying "Nerd/ Dorky" :P

    People have called me a:

    Nerd
    Druggie
-My best friend is going with a drug dealer so people just presume I spend every waking moment in my room listening to m83 and getting high....I only do that sometimes:D
Rocker-embarrassing, I prefer indie. Rocker conjures up an image of a 13 year old boy wearing an AC/DC t-shirt who thinks jack black is the coolest man on earth.

Personally I agree with the first one. I'm a pokemon loving, harry potter reading, musically obsessed nerd.

Get some better music to listen to while drugged up!

I love Sleep, not exactly into the whole drug thing, but it could only get better.

    noone is one particurlar stereotype.
    me, personally, I
    -wear some D4 clothes
    -have "scene" hair
    -wear some rocker clothes
-have good friends who are "townies"
    -buy "D4" makeup (from BT)
    -talk like a "townie"
    -am friendly
-like rock/pop/alternative/traditional/country/R'n'B and old fashioned music
    -love to read
-love to be out & about
-love socialising BUT like my alone time

how does that conform to a stereotype?

On top of that there are about a million different types of every "stereotype". No one nerd is the same!

  • Registered Users Posts: 55 ✭✭ChasingDreams

I'm mainly seen as a geek.

My class have decide that in a couple of weeks they will hold a 'read the dictionary' day, as I once said in class I don't watch a lot of TV. In their minds this equates with reading the dictionary all night . . . uh, no, I actually read (books, not dictionaries) and go on boards or do HTML/CSS work not read the fuking dictionary.

However, I have also been called a D4, a dork, a nerd, an emo, a tomboy, egotistical, conceited, cynical, a prude etc.

You're the kinda guy, where, girls tell you your really sweet, and there's that one girl who you asked out once and it failed, but you stayed friends in the vein hope that maybe one day she'd see the error of her ways, and no matter how many times, you're there for here when her latest fling has dumped her, she just can't realise you're the perfect guy for her...

That or you're a nerd :p now, where is that comic... ah here it is.
