Right lads, the thread title says it all, this is for any general chat you want to have with each other than anything related to Spurs that is! Movies, music, travel, work, whatever you want to chat about is fair game, apart from as outlined below...

    Couple of guidelines:

    1. Please no talking about other football, there's a forum for that (see the link under my username ;)) and I don't want to invite non-Spurs punters on to this forum to start arguing about other teams.

    2. All of the usual rules in the charter about abuse, legal stuff, porn etc etc still apply.

    3. No whinging about other forums (their users, their mods, their reason for being and all other stuff) on boards, leave that sh1t at the door.

Other than that knock yourselves out.

What's the point of this? There's a film forum and everything else. This is ridiculous.

  • Company Representative Posts: 2,957 ✭✭✭Gamesnash.ie: Pat

The point is that therecklessone is trying to get a bit of community spirit going. The forums own off topic thread where Spurs supporters can muck about in and get to know each other makes a lot of sense.

There are off topic threads in most of the other diverse forums too.

    Agree with you Pat.

There is a lot of point in having an off topic area where Spurs fans can talk about things other than Spurs.

    I fully support it.

Hey good place to put some clean jokes as well.:D

Clean jokes for some reason are rarely as funny. Then again that just might be my mentallity ;)

There is, but maybe the people who post here would like to converse about things other than Spurs, and maybe just maybe that might help us get to know each other a bit better, and see the community grow and flourish a bit more.

If it's not to your tastes then you're free to give it a miss.

Recorded My Name is Joe last week on Film 4 because they recommended it on Matt Cooper, about halfway through at the moment and its excellent. The thick Scottish accent can be tough to understand at some points though.

three things everyone should do this summer.
Host a party - country's up the jacksy, so lets go back to making our own fun
read The Damned United - David Peace is in Clough's head, and the world looks a little different from in there -fantastic
Go to an U-14 hurling match, if ther's none where you're from, come to Wexford for one, and then go to see Mick Wallace's amatuer wonders.
    Trust me, I'm right

Have to say, watched Gran Torino a few weeks ago on a night duty in work and I was very impressed. Clint is the bollox.

Been watching Battlestar Galactica a fair bit the last few days, cracking TV tbh.

So who's the most famous footballer you'e met?

For me was prob jack charlton, I idolised him as a young lad in the italy 90/usa 94 era. Nice man too TBF.

The omnipresent JG...met him in a hotel (The Albany) in Birmingham when he was working for Central TV (Pre-Saint & Greavsie)...

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,213 ✭✭✭✭therecklessone

Graham Roberts, Mickey Hazard, Paul Allen (who is an absolute gentleman), Bobby Smith, and Steve Perryman.

    Think that's them all.

Ossie A. when he signed a shirt for me which my son has framed and proudly hung on his wall.

Even though he did speak a bit fast.

    Gary Mabutt and Martin Jol.

Worst Berbatov....took 20 mins to get him to sign anything

Met the legends that are Pat Jennings and Alan Mullery :D during a dinner and match gig at the lane that my wife bought me as a birthday present few years back. Mido and Lennon put in an appearance too. Had a brief few words with Martin Jol that day too. He's as fierce looking up close as he can be on the telly.

Years ago as a kid went to a soccer camp with Chris Hughton as the coach. I was the only Spurs fan !!!!!
