have u got a broadband dongle yet? is that one of the pay as you go ones? like 250 hours of internet for x amount of pounds? i wasn't sure whether to get one incase it would end up being a waste of money. any advice of what to look out/go for when buying one?

Haven't really looked into it too much to be honest but I'll give you a shout with what one I go for because I only need something for the 4 weeks like yourself prob. Yea the pay as you go ones is the one I am going for. Gotta hate being addicted to stupid websites. Damn those lolcats.

I'm sorry are they takin the p1ss?? all my certificates!? I took my GCSE's 14 years ago... i very much doubt even my examining board still have records that far back  I didn't even need them to get into Cambridge Uni, get advanced disclosure and then work for 2 different education boards as a fully qualified teacher! Jeez I couldn't even tell you what exam boards I did them with. Anyone got any advice about how on earth I am supposed to start getting them!?!? :(

on a serious note... they can't refuse you just because you havent got your home economics gcse cert. If they were that important, why havent they asked for them before. Wouldnt worry about it, give them a ring tomorrow. I cant find half of my gcse ones

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 469 ✭✭DownMTBer

Really, its not as good as it sounds. Not like I was taking a pure maths degree or anything. Anyway, I hope ur right about me not needing them. But sure I'll get on the phone tomorrow... i've a feeling my parents might still have some/most/all of my certificates now I think about it - if they kept them when they moved house that is!

Cambridge - look at you Mr smarty pants.

Sorry my english friend, I assume you would need to contact educational boards in England to get your certificates.

Although I reckon your parents probably still have them, parents always keep stuff like that.

Guys do yous have to bring all certificates or just up as far as you have achieved? I'm assuming they want GCSE and all certificates you have even beyond GCSE yes?

God that is grim, don't think I will bring my bronze duke of ed certificate with me. Doubt it would impress many people.

Guys do you really think you will have anytime to be messing on the internet. Surely you can do that at the weekend.

My free time will be sent studying and getting as much sleep as possible while the English boy cleans my boots!! :)

Squirell - sounds like the boys are getting jealous of our room mates, after 4 weeks of living together they will be gagging for a bit of the twins.

Damn I can see i've my work cut out for me keeping up on the ol' banter score.

But sure, you obviously have no idea what ur in for... you two are gonna get room-mates so bad that you could keep me off it for a month solid and no amount of gagging would get me near that!

Anyway, I'm sure they'd prefer the gentle feminine types ;) they're gonna turn you two into their factory biatches :p

On a serious note... it seems on phoning my Ma she does have every single certificate possible including all my clarinet and music theory ones! Typical Mums hey? where'd us guys be without them, hmm or women in general for that matter...? Oh yeah, in a pub having fun :D

EDIT: Oh no... i just noticed you called me 'English boy' hope that's not gonna be your pet name for me for the next 6 months!! And I think you needed to rephrase that sentence anyhow...:

'My free time will be sent studying and getting as much sleep as possible while the English boy cleans my boots and I do all his ironing!!' ;):D :P

Yeah PC in waiting suppose just trying to be as prepared as I can don't want to be running around last minute getting certificates etc if I ever need them!

Running 4 miles twice a week as well and cycling weekends keeps me sane in all this just about!

God I am glad I am not in the same intake as you. You would show me right up as I am wezzing in a pile at the side of the road somewhere.
