    Plastic mug

Yes! Don't for the love of God get a Metal mug. Does everyone remember the fun I had in Heavy baggage with that mysterious cylinder object in my bag!:)

Also Campfire gas was easily obtainable from Camping store in Stockholm. And GBB gas was in abundance in the main safe zone. If memory serves we threw out two or three full bottles of GBB gas last year at the end of the game.

yep, one can of gas will do a few people easily as we had very little need for side arms.

One of the best things we had was a small wash cloth/towel that we all got when signing in, it was used for washing, scarf, sweat towel, padding for preventing chafing, etc.

Also, save up and buy the best(expensive) hiking socks you can get, i was ok, but blisters were a problem for some people who used normal sports socks.

One idea i like'd was that the mercs got orange boonies, so when they were hit or killed, they simply put on the hat , very handly when walking long distances to spawn points or "off game"

And we will need to get decent armbands made up early, also usefull to add velcro pads to your tee shirt sleves to stop it moving.
I had brought strong thread and needles which got extensive use in adjusting armbands.
Portable gps might be usefull, but a decent map would be very handy, the maps we got were very poor, simply bad photocopies, but there were very good maps posted around the area as it was public space and hiking trails, we should try to get copies of that one if its on in the same area.

Cheap radios actually worked out better for a lot of people, people with good radios had a lot of problems as they had too many channel/options and i kept loaning my cheap cobra to people, but make sure you get an ear piece.
2 am, hiding in the bushes near the emy,and your radio starts and alarts them.
http://www.militarynames.com/ very good site to get name tags made up, i had mine within a week

Cool to see many of you will be returning. There is always at least one Aussie at Berget (me, I live in Stockholm). See you on the NATO side.

Thinking of getting an g36 sl8 semi sniper and upgrading it to the limit to bring with me to berget, i'dlike the chance to try out sniping using a high power sniper in an event like berget, and bring my p90 as backup,
As far as i know, i can sign up as sniper, but still be allowed to use the p90 if i'm stuck. but obviously not both at the same time.
Sniper on night patrols to emy base, while p90 on days.
And i'd love to see lemmings m60 at its maximum allowed fps for support weapons

Dont forget to wait until you enter Sweden to change the spring and change it back before returning to Ireland :)

Half-tempted to do the same with my PSG-1, I have it pretty well upgraded at the moment with regard to battery/piston etc... and running at 325fps, but even with stock parts they can apparently take upgraded springs fairly well.

We are now at T-minus 7 hours boys and girls ... so get ready to hammer that refresh button until tickets go live :pac:

This is just the first round of tickets, so no need to panic for those of you who are undecided. Doc, check what information is needed for ticket booking and then get someone else to book it for you. That's what I did for a few people for this year's event (alas all of them backed out .. wimps :p )

If I understand things correctly all 2000 tickets will be released tonight, it is just that the first 300 will be at the reduced rate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,140 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

i thought it said jsut 300 tonight...

soafter the first 300 it goes up to 98 euro?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 86 ✭✭kjsaw

That is what I understand from the info I have received. All tickets will be released tonight. After the first 300 are sold at €78 rate, the remaining 1700 will be available for €98, and group booking will also be possible. At the end of November any remaining tickets will then be bumped up to the next price level.

Historically the website will be very slow tonight, and the first 300 tickets will sell out very quickly, hopefully the manage to changeover to the next price level without any trouble.

This is perfectly OK. You get both weapons chrono'd at check-in and go from there. I think in the case of the P90 it might even be acceptable to carry it as a PDW while you are in the sniper role (can't say for sure that the rules would allow it, but I can't see why not).

There is definitely a role for snipers. I remember at b4 where we had them sneaking up in the tall grass outside our base and picking people off at will.

Anyone upgrading remember that opening your gun up technically would require you to be re-chrono's which might not be fast process once the game has started, so if possible maybe it is best to do any mods before you check in. The check-in process for B7 has not yet been published (and I think it might vary a bit from the B6 process).

It's a reasonable interpretation, but not necessarily. That's not what the site says

It can be interpreted to mean that only 300 tickets will be released tonight, at the lowest price, then 300 next month at the next price and so on. It's not clear one way or the other.

I'll be camped on the site tonight in any case.

"The first 300 tickets [went] for the announced price of €78. Note that the ticket release continue[d] even after the first 300 tickets [were] gone, and you will still be able to buy your tickets to the price of €98."

    I'm in.

    I didn't get asked a question either.

See you in Sweden boys :D

I also elected to get transport from Harnosand bus station to the event and back too. So €100 all told.

Me either. Ticket, grub and transport from Sunskwhatever booked (since I'm taking the Lemming Train, baby).

Me neither. Maybe they couldn't get a code engine to parse the replies, and a multiple-choice random questionnaire would have taken too long to write. Who knows.

I missed the cheap tix. Opted for food & transport from the train station. 156 quid.

Funny, that works out at 180 for me. Sure you got transport from the right train station?

So there are two travel options, Sundsvall or Harnosand. Looks like the path of least resistance is to pick sundsvall, since if you choose to fly Stockholm->Sundsvall that works too.

The link Lemming posted for trains quotes me 260E for a return train Stockholm->Sundsvall. Lemming?

Patience young padwan .. patience. Don't bother with the trains until ... roughly March 22nd.

The cheapest SJ (Swedish rail) tickets are released 3 months before the date. Don't even bother before then. Travel to Sundsvall, then hop on a bus to Harnosand from there. There are trains to Harnosand but they are not frequent.

Sundsvall airport is actually about halfway between Sundsvall and Härnösand.

Train ticket prices will vary over time, this far in advance I doubt any cheap seats have even been released. Keep an eye out over time and the price should drop.

Ah. That's kinda backwards. Those wily swedes.

Does the same go for flights, too? Looking like 250-ish for direct flights, in wednesday out sunday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,045 ✭✭✭OzCam

I picked Harnosand. I thought that was the right one, but I'm sure Lemming will set us all straight in due course. I'm taking The Ghan LemmingTrain of course.

Airfares Stockholm - Sundsvall will vary. Right now on the swedish SAS site they can be purchased for 997 SEK (~100€) which is about as cheap as they would get. Ticket prices can vary depending on which country site you book from, Here is a link to the SAS Swedish site with the English language; http://www.sas.se/Default.aspx?epslanguage=EN

Cheers for that Kjsaw, much appreciated. The only thing I'll mention for those who want to get an internal flight to Sundsvall is to add on the "special baggage" charge to the internal flights as well.

Seriously though, high-speed train, 1st class with wifi is the ONLY way to travel large distances through a stunning, stunning country.

About the special baggage charge. If you book a flight from Ireland that includes the ARN - SDL part as a connection, you should not have to pay for excess baggage again. Also, I have never had to pay a firearms charge to check in my AEG on SAS. Under Swedish law it is a toy, and they treat it as such internally at least. Your millage may vary of course, I have never flown from Ireland - Stockholm with an AEG (I have done warsaw/tallin/copenhagen though with no extra charges)

    /k
