    Ok thread reopened.
I've handed out quite a few warnings to some posters.

Please calm down the lot of ye and discuss the thread in a reasonable manner.
Bite your tongue and count to 10 before posting if something makes you mad.
Then reply in a reasonable manner.
No body has been banned but I will ban if theres more trouble here.

Lastly please continue to report posts and I'll try to deal with them.
I'd hope though from this point out people won't be making posts in this thread or others that need reporting.
How and ever do report them as it will make my job easier.
    Thank you.

People who pays loads of tax are loaded? lol! Well some are but most are working poor, can't afford a house but at the same time see others get social housing or rent supplement like your good self. Not saying you're not entitled to it and this thread is to help you get your entitlements.I think you're being a bit judgemental too as well! You got to admit it, come on now
Wait my friend until you get working again and you 41% tax, PRSI and BIK tax! I too pays loads of tax every week and I'm far from loaded. No rent supplement for me :(
Anyway you got sorted in the end, fair play

Just a quick observation here, nobody in Ireland pays 41% tax on their full income, and anyone who pays 41% tax on part of their income is earning over 44k per annum, so if your paying "loads of tax" you must have a damn good job, so pardon me for not having any sympathy for you!

At least I dont have any kids, so what about people getting 250per month for each kid they have whether they are working or not, and that new thing every 3 months, is everyone who receives that spongers too??
Now, this post i do have a problem with
While i sympathise with the OP and all of their problems I have a number of problems with this statement:
    1) Children's allowance is €166 a month for the first child and €203 for subsequent children, which does not even come close to paying for school lunches, uniforms, school supplies and after school childcare!
    2) The Early childcare supplement is €275 every quarter, kids (especially babies) are bloody expensive any parent will tell you that believe me its not long being spent!

I accept that being a parent is a choice, but i didn't have kids so that i could "sponge" off the government, financially i'd be better off if i didn't have kids, people should contrast that fact to their own situations before making judgements on things they know nothing about!

I don't remember asking for sympathy
And where did I post that people pay 41% tax on all their income? I was responding to the OP begging for sympathy. Sure just look at the title of this thread.

For an expert you've forgotten that the cut-off is €35,400 for a single person. That's just above the average and average is different to "damn good job"
€44,400 allowance for married couples and sorry, that's excludes me :)

I pay back around 40euro a wk on tax on cigarettes , considering I spend 55 on them a wk, so in a way I am paying back most of it to the government anyways..
I know this is an old thread, but hey why not:
I'll keep this free of abuse.

You can't simply write off your duties like that.
The tax on cigarettes roughly matches the cost to the HSE of treating cigarette-caused illnesses, at a cost to the taxpayer. In other words, that money that you're spending now on smokes will one day be spent on your healthcare by the government because of the negative effects of your smoking.
So you're an ex-junkie who smokes 20+ fags a day, on the dole, despite the fact that you aren't actively looking for work (if you are genuinely disabled, you should be on disability allowance, not dole afaik), on rent allowance, trying to trick the government into giving you money despite the fact that you've picked an apartment that is too expensive. You can get a place for 80 a week in Dublin if you look hard enough.
I suggest thats what you do.

You're in a rut and you need to get out of it, I suggest you try and find a part time job in tesco or something, even 8 hours a week is a start.

I hope that you can undestand the frustration of the people who wake up at 5,30 every morning, get a packed bus or a smelly train in the rain, wrecked tired, drag themselves to work and labour away all day, quick lunch break, just to have a certain % of their money magically dissapear as tax, partly to be spent on folks like yourself who are basically leeches.
    Please don't give them abuse.
You pretty much just have to sit back and take the abuse from people, and try your best to get yourself out of this situation. You won't be on the methodone forever, hopefully so best of luck getting off it and back to work.

i have just come from feedback and i am sickened by some of the posts on this thread. the behaviour of some of the posters is as i put it "typical boards.ie'sih!". the people who have personally abused that chap, you must be so holy and better than everyone else that you may aswell go set up your own forum for people you all are holier than!

this is a forum for advice on state benifits no more and the chap is looking for advice. if you cant offer any sound advice to that person then dont bother posting her it all. i would love to meet all you personal abusers face to face and see how "great and almighty" you really are. IMO you should be banned straight away. YOU ARE LIKE BULLYS GANGING ON ON SOMEWHON IN A SCHOOLYARD! drug addication is not something that i endorse, but it is a problem in this country and he is getting help getting off it, has it occured to any of you that he may be heavily depressed and finds it hard to get out there to work in the world. I am reporting every personal abuse post in this thread as a point!
