Hi Guys, im only just new to the forum.
Just to update you all, I have currently just came through Campaign 13. I have sucessfully completed my IST, role plays/interview and medical.
I have contacted PSNI and found out that I am on a merlit list between 300-350 and their intentions are to take 440 (220 from one community and 220 from other communtiy).
I have not heard anything else since finding out I passed my medical.
From reading this forum, im extremely nervous about the fitness level which is expected of you. Is there anyone who has been through Garneville can elaborate?
I have also done IST for Campaign 14, which I completed Saturday 25 April and will know within 20 working days whether or not I have been sucessful.
This is my 6th attempt applying for the PSNI. Those of you who are in the same boat, do not give up. It is a worthwhile job and if its meant to be it will come to you.
Good luck to everyone, wish you all the best and look forward to maybe working with you in the near future. :)

Blondie87, follow the link below from the PSNI website (not Consensia) regarding their fitness assessments and how you can improve your own fitness in anticipation of training.

    http://www.psni.police.uk/pca-training-programme.pdf

With regard to where you stand? It also depends on your background as to whether you may be successful in this campaign. You could always ring recruitment branch to find out how your application is going. Their number is 02890 650222 Ext 24387.

    Good luck. JVB

If you search the thread im sure this has been covered alot of times already but heres basically what it is.

One written exercise lasting 30 mins (I think)

3 Role plays each lasting 5 minutes

And 1 situational interview which you dont get to prepare for.

Its nothing to worry about really. I went to mine totally unprepared and not really bothered about it and I passed it. I didnt know there was merit placings or any of that, I thought a pass meant you were in.

Just stay calm, think clearly and be polite.

I simply hate waiting. Had a real feeling they would have arrived today as my test was last monday. Still have upto another 19days in total to wait! But I think I will hear this week. Monday is a holiday so then it would be next wednesday I would have to look for post if i havent got anything this thurs, fri or sat. Gosh I hate looking over the porch door and seeing if there is a white envelope.

I think you have a good chance of getting in, life experience and all that jazz. Im 18, was 18 last time I applied too. I know of a local girl who's dad is a cop and last year was her 8th/9th attempt, each time she got into the pool!!!! How annoying! Id never waste that amount of time trying. If I dont get in this time im going to england or scotland or wales. I just turned down a police degree there along with 4 paramedic degrees.

There's been so much talk about the IST, yet hardly any about the AC. So is it tough? Are the role-play actors tough - do they give you a hard time? Is the written exercise difficult? What skills is it testing etc....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,006 ✭✭✭PapaYankeeGirl

what are you talking about in that PM??????

    Ultravid,

The focus on the IST is due to the stage of the present campaign. As it progresses, then I'm sure the topic of disussion will progress likewise. Regarding the A/C roles, these have been posted on numerous occasions within this thread.
    Regards.

Apologies if this question has already been answered on the thread, but does anyone know what the C14 IST passmark is?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 36 Lampshade

this is my second time applying for the psni, i got 40 out of 51 last year, only i spent to much time trying to work out the answers that i didnt finish the test in time...this time around i worked out as much as i could, then near the finishing time i just went pot luck and finshed all the questions before the time, so fingers crossed.

When you scored 40 out of 51 last year, did you pass or fail? It seems like a pretty good score so I'm hoping you passed!?

I was hoping myself that 40/51 was a pass!

I think 51 must have been the pass mark last year, cause of the extra section in it and all that.
