So it has been over 2 years since I've been back home to the north west. I came up to check out the new Gold Club Casino and Poker room because of a possible job opportunity and I was just amazed at what a great venue it is. IMO It's the best Irish poker room outside of Dublin.

Hidden away in the Letterkenny hills (which are covered in snow this morning! :) ) its not where you might expect to find a well run, well thought out cardroom with a lot of character, class and atmosphere. The club has only been open since October but has been doiing really well thanks to the very professional, enthusiastic approach from the clubs owners who are never afraid to get their hands dirty. It will be expanding the second floor to accomodate tournaments of 100+ runners. If anyone ever fancies a road trip to somewhere different its definitely worth a look. (even more so now that I'm going to be working there :D)

At the moment the club is running 4 tournaments a week, with SnGs on Saturdays. Cash games Tuesday-Saturday. There are plans for a festival in March and we'll also be running Irish Open Satelites. If anyone fancies a roadtrip let me know. It's less that 3 hours drive from Dublin and you'll be well looked after.

    Nicky.

What's a toga tournament? Does the TD have to wear one?

I am not sure of the rules since I just invented the concept, but it will involve elements of Animal House and lots of drunken chanting of "Toga, Toga, Toga".
