How big/small of a TRANSFORMERS fan are you?

I guess most TF fans are casual fans, who only know about the totally inferior cartoon storyline (because it was on ITV's Wacaday/Sky's DJ Kat Show, and they never checked out the comic book stands) and can hazily recall Optimus Prime and Megatron, amongst a few other robots, and have a chewed, broken Grimlock toy thrown somewhere in their attic. :D

I remember when I was a kid wondering if I'd be let away with picking Transformers as my specialist subject if I was to ever go on Mastermind.

i invested in the box set. it's fantastic. you can get all the series' (g1, of course) in HMV and so on, but if you go the distance and order online you get a nice fancy tin to hold everything with the first box!

you know i was gonna pick uber fan but considering i hadnt a clue about the whole mess of crap that was the japanese continuity till a few years ago i guess i'll just have to say im a big fan.

still get the comics and blew 160 quid on a reissue "predaking" they were flogging in forbiden planet (dublin) when i got my credit card a few months back :D sad i know but what the hey, i wanted him since i was a kid. wouldnt touch any of the other stuff but if they re released "swoop" i know what im doing ;)

was lucky enough to be the youngest so all my TFs are still up in the attic, locked in an unending posturing war. its funny i used to trash my toy cars but virtually all my TFs are in perfect condition. i think its the fact i only got a punt a week for pocket money and had to save up 15 to get a dinobot that made me take extra special care of em

the comic continuity is the only one i see as the true story. i was given a pound every week to go down to the local newsagents to get my comic, that was on order, a can of coke and a mars bar.

i used to sit on a small concrete slab outside the shop and read the comic. i was too young to even thik of their monetary value if kept pristine but they did get a great read.

my favorite story arc is when megatron calls in the predacons over the space bridge and they hunt prime through a forest, then he crosses the bridge and winds up on cybertron only to have ultra magnus think hes a trick from shockwave and he sends Springer and the wreckers after him.

    god i love transformers.

By the Matrix, that brings back memories. Prime was about to be executed by a Wrecker firing squad but Outback saved him. Then Prime joined up with Magnus and they gave Megatron an unmerciful baitin'.

As a kid I was an uber fan and after a few months on this forum I will be again.

I started collecting at issue 71, the best part of 20 years ago. The Predacons were cool. Their rumble with the Dinobots circa issue 134-135 was a classic.

Oh yes... That's when we found out that Straxus was still alive and was just a head in a jar... he was a cool villian.

He then possessed the body of Megatron or tried to and it went into a deadly story later on about 2 megatrons. Man, that was great. :D

Yep. He got ripped apart in a space bridge accident.

And it was the clone he made of Megatron that took part in the Time Wars wasn't it? That's why Galvatron got so confused as his memories didn't match with the reality.

"he's still using my name!" :D

classic scrap, and neatly illustrates the diference between the dinos and the preds as teams. when razorclaw asks grimlock why he didnt expose swoops dark secret to ridicule and humiliate him grimlock just says something along the lines of "dumb con, we dinobots. we look after our own". god i loved when those two teams crossed paths. hope they do it again soon:D

I'm a big fan, was drawn back to them during the Beast era, loved the Transmetals, have all my bots still, a few of the old G1 stuff still there, alot of Beast Wars, Rid and Unicron Trilogy bots there too, a few Alts and of course my masterpeice.

Always enjoyed the hobby of Transformers collecting, though lately the current Cybertron toys dont do it for me. Lovin classics though. Cant wait for Jetfire.

Look at the cybertron range in the shops they actually look about the best I've seen in a long while. Starscream looks pretty cool and you can get Cybertron itself now too, ,can't you?

was in smyths in tallaght today and theyve got a fair few cybertron primus's selling for just under 74quid for those who wanna know :D

always dodgy smyths though, got myself an armada unicron there for 25quid cheaper than when it first came out (couldnt resist, its UNICRON for gods sake!) so it may be worth waiting till they wanna clear stock!
