Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    He even managed to go out of his way and help a future mod , to become the infamous character he is now:D :D

    Rooferpete is responsible for keeping Dellys house dry, and then he gets the boot , before he gets a chance to send a bill.:) :):)

    Prob end up banned as well but what the F**K you have to stand up and be counted in the face of the sort of Gombeen mentality prevelent among the regulators who " run" this forum ...

    Having not visited this forum in a while so i was astounded to see that the blackshirts are prevelent even here and that Roofer has been banned.I find the postings of the whiter than white's who have banned him as nothing better than the ranting of the " we can do it so we will" brigade presently in power in the government.

    He was one of the few people on this forum who was a genuine help to those who sought guidance and this much hallowed forum is going to be a poorer place without his contribution.....if you want to keep this part of the forum alive .......

    Roofer Pete himself would not come bace to the boards were he to be unbanned. Why should he? His input here was the most prolific and useful of all the contributors. It is a pity he was banned by the chap who specialises in garden drainage. He does more than just draining gardens, draining the boards of top class DIY advuce being another speciality.

    Let's see if the draining works when the winter rains come. ;)

    Well you say 'whatever', but as far as i'm concerned your talking bull and spouting lies, so to me 'whatever' is a cowardly reponse when someone points out that your talking shit.

    As Debracd said the issue is over, but i'll take note that your word can't be trusted if your happy to make up mistruths for drama effect.

    Well whatever way it went(this is me keeping schtum;) ) I'd say having people still calling for his reinstatement almost a month after being banned is pretty Legandary!! LOL

    Mind you I'm slightly biased.. he'll always be a legend to me :)

    I wouldn't disagree with you at all on that count, and think that he can certainly be counted as a 'Legend of the Boards' at this stage :).

    Just spotted this thread and am a little surprised that its here and also at some of the posts. Have had to do some digging to get the history.

    Some Facts:

    Delly did not ban Rooferpete nor ask for him to be banned quite the opposite.

    Rooferpete was banned for threatening legal action against boards and its mods. One of our smods took this action to protect boards. A simple request to review the material that offended him would have been appreciated, as we are pretty reasonable people here.

    As a result of the legal threat, I have no choice but to remove any reference of rooferpetes website from our forums,again to protect us.

    The only person now who can get rooferpete back here is rooferpete himself, a retraction of his threat, a private apology to Delly and of course the assumption Delly would be happy to allow this.

    Otherwise let it go!.

    As the person who started the thread I just want to say that it wasn't designed to get Pete back on boards. As much as I would like to see Pete back I realise that that’s a decision for Pete himself and the site admins to work out between themselves.

    I just started this thread as a tribute to Pete and as a thank you for all his advice, nothing else. I was clear in the original post that I didn’t want to start the debate up again of why he was banned and if he should be allowed back, and would ask anyone wishing to start the debate up again to do it elsewhere but I think it is a futile course of action anyway as realistically the decision out of our hands.

    I'd like to ask any posters to please just use this thread to post your positive comments about Pete as a poster when he was actively posting and don’t use it as an excuse to inflame the war of words even further which has already raged long enough. I think everyone is aware of each others opinions on the ban at this stage.

    Im away from boards for a short while, you think things change but they dont, same old fight the power thread, some things never change:) ...

    While searching for occurances of websites to be removed, I came accross some "over" long threads on feedback about rooferpete, where it seems rooferpete has been in contact with one of the other Admins and similar options to the above have been discussed.

    Excuse my repetition, but im still staggered.
