Help needed from everyone on this.

IrelandOffline are looking to create a new broadband coverage map for Ireland. To do this we'll need to get the longitude and latitude coordinates for all the exchanges listed on this thread here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=303312

If everyone who reads this forum could help out by picking places they know and going to either Google Maps: http://maps.google.co.uk/, zooming into where they know the exchange is and getting the longitude and lattitude coords from the URL e.g. This url: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&ll=51.889557,-8.446083&spn=0.004258,0.010064
shows a map of my area and includes the long and lat coords

Or you can get the coords by going to http://www.mapbuilder.net/index.php and finding the locations you know on the map or even going to http://www.geonames.org and getting them there.

There are about 450ish locations in the above thread and if everyone just did a handful each we could have a map made fairly quickly.

do all of leitrim stan local knowledge is needed to recognise exchange areas

named the 10 biggest towns at least , eg Dromahair and Drumshambo and Mohill are in Leitrim and have BB so where else is big ??

Assuming all this info's all legal and above board:p, here are some coordinates of the exchanges themselves that I can find out straight-off and accurately, to their exact location:

Collon: 53.778 N, 6.481 W
Termonfeckin: 53.755 N, 6.2705 W
Drogheda: 53.719 N, 6.354 W
Castlebellingham: 53.9035 N, 6.380 W

All are in Co. Louth

P.S. These were checked out with OS maps and one of the links Damien posted.

would people not take a whole country , say a big one like Louth or Kilkenny with lots of exchanges, and use their local knowledge to get a definitive list for that county ????

26 people could do it .

I see what you're saying SB but for my part, there are only 5 exchanges which I know personally and have an OS map covering them. I'm finding out the exact locations of the others bit by bit.

I'm using the OS map to verify what google maps is saying and seeing exactly where the exchange is in relation to everything else around it (so I can use satellite imagery).

Btw I don't have a clue of where the Carlingford and Omeath exchanges are. If anyone could find out those I would be much obliged.
