Surely you all realise it's a tax on the stupid.

I hate that phrase. Everyone knows the odds are against them. It's just a dream, and only a few quid. Forgive us all would ya?

Jesus, stop the party everybody, the genius just arrived.

Relax, I'm prepared to look the other way, keep ticking the boxes.

    Very defensive reaction.

one of the best things about winning the lotto would be giving your friends some mulah, you would feel like the ****.

Firstly I'd may sure mine and my GF's parents never had to work again. Throw in a new house and car for them to boot. Then I'd be handing in my resignation (I cannot understand those fools who carry on working) and then we would go on a long holiday. For the rest of our lives....

I'd buy the internet, and ruin your lives with popups and granny pr0n mwahahahaha

As said before, its only €5 mil. Boards alone is worth half the gold in the African Congo.

i wonder could you get it all in €5 notes and have a money fight in lotto headquarters.

Oh man, the Lotto is so cruel isn't it? At least the money we spend on it is going to a good cause (I hope!).

Having said that, id construct some sort of Bond Villian base like that underwater yokey in The Spy Who Loved Me. Perhaps in Dublin bay...

The lottery is the government tax on hope. :(

I'd go to Vegas and bet it all on black.

I hope 1,2,3,4,5,6. come up. That way the people who thought they were being really clever in picking numbers that no-one else would be stupid enough to pick........will have to share the 5 million with approx 2000 (€2500) other 'Clever' people!! Ray Bates the Lotto head honcho is on record as saying approx. 2000 people a draw play 1,2,3,4,5,6. !! :D:D:D

ie "haha, I'm so clever, I know that the mathematical law of probability states that these numbers are as likely to be drawn as any other set of six. All those fools who think the odds would be against 1,2,3,4,5,6. coming out won't play them, and I'll have the full jackpot for myself.....I'm so clever.....Muahahahaha!!"

Lisa.c, you beat me to it, I was just abou to post a Lotto thread!
I played for the first time the other night but only got 3 numbers. :(
If I won I'd definitely stay anonymous, I'd be afraid I'd get mugged or the house was broken into if people knew I was a millionaire. Well it could happen!

    If I won 5 million I'd...

-Give some to my parents and some relations.
-Use some of it to get myself a good degree.
    -Learn to drive.
-Buy a nice car, nothing too flash.
-Buy a big house with plenty of land.
-Buy a nice horse. Again, nothing too flash.
    -Donate some to charity.
-Don't know what I'd do with the rest.

I'd buy all the horses in Ireland. And a field. And a cloud.

I hate the lotto, they didn't let me win.

-Pay off familys mortages and debts.
    -Move to a decent country.

Make up the rest as I go along.

I am willing to bet my life that lisa.c didn't win.

Does anyone know if it actually has been won?

Or are we looking at a 6 million jackpot on Saturday.

I hate it when people who win say 'it'll never change me, all I'll do is go on a holiday, then back to my job again' - for funks sake, give ME the money in that case, cause it will certainly change my life! I would never work for anyone but myself - managing your investments would be a full-time job, if you did it properly.

    I have it. We'll form a syndicate.
