Kimmel said late night show cost over 100 million his show is 120 and Id say Colbert was very close to that , what the show generated shows the his show was running on a loss.

Again, no proof. "Id say…" is a guess, and a bad one at that. No one is saying it didn't cost money to put these shows on, more that the number given was never formally confirmed, and it was leaked just a day after the cancellation. You can live in that blissful ignorance if you want, not quite sure why you are bringing in Kimmel, he 100% was not cancelled for that period over money.

And your wrong again I didn't defend any of the rape allegations , you just love making stuff up to suit your self . All I said was he was never convicted of Rape charge but with Sexual assault .

My friend, that is defending him about the charges. You really need to read what you are trying to say here.

What do you think of the fact Trump is using the justice department against the woman he raped? That's far more relevant than the ratings of Colbert or Kimmel.

And again, now take your time, the number was never confirmed.

Matthew Belloni, Puck's founding partner and author of the report on Colbert's show, told Snopes he obtained the information in his article "from multiple anonymous sources with knowledge of the show's finances." He added that the $40 million number was "subsequently confirmed by multiple outlets," including The Wall Street Journal (archived). Belloni did not provide additional documentation or evidence to corroborate his reporting.

That's not the case across the board, according to Belloni's report. He wrote that "two other people with deep ties to CBS and 'Late Show' suspect otherwise," adding that executives didn't ask key talent to take pay cuts, fire people or slash costs.

Another person close to the decision reportedly said, "Colbert loses $40 million to $50 million a year, so George Cheeks just decided to pull the plug." Cheeks is co-CEO of Paramount Global, and president and CEO of CBS.

Colbert was referencing the $16 million Paramount Global decided to pay Trump to settle a lawsuit over the editing of a 2024 "60 Minutes" interview with Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

So, just to reiterate. No confirmation of the number being true or accurate. I also added a few paragraphs there for you learn a bit more about the actual workings of why this was all cancelled.

How am I defending trump I was just correcting users on what he was convicted of , which I am doing to you.

You are defending him, it is a very bizarre thing to "correct" someone on, especially when the judge had this to say
"The finding that Ms. Carroll failed to prove that she was "raped" within the meaning of the New York Penal Law does not mean that she failed to prove that Mr. Trump "raped" her as many people commonly understand the word "rape." Indeed, as the evidence at trial recounted below makes clear, the jury found that Mr. Trump in fact did exactly that."

Not to get into it, but...

as many people commonly understand the word "rape"

I would say most peoples understanding of 'rape' would be in line with the New York definition

I think we can do some rough conclusions, though.

We know that the advertising revenue for late night shows is about $240mn a year, that has been made public by industry. Presuming Kimmel knows roughly what his own show costs (or I presume he wouldn’t have said it), his show alone would need to take in 2/5 of the revenue to break even. Colbert’s show is known to have higher staffing levels, and so I think we can presume it is not going to be any cheaper. If Fallon’s show also comes in at about the same cost as Kimmel’s, then we have, just on those three shows and discounting any others like Maher’s, costs well in excess of $300mn to be covered by that advertising take. What we don’t know is the ratio of the take to the costs of the specific shows, but the idea that the largest, most expensive show was losing money in an environment where there is known not to be enough money to go around is not something one can readily dismiss as unreasonable.

You are doing this, while completely ignoring the merger at the root of this, and the payout Trump got, along with Trump not liking Colbert because he makes fun of him.

Again, this was the 9th season in a row where it was the top show, so cancelling based on that alone is not sound.

You can crunch the numbers until the cows come home, the number that was put out was never confirmed by anyone. It was a distraction.

    And

Running under age, miss teen beauty pageants where he brags about barging in on them while they're changing.

The people who support Trump knew he was a nonce when they voted for him. They don't care

what did Cuba ever do to America to justify an invasion / war with it. ? The US had it’s percieved reasons back in the day but ‘things have moved along’ since that moves the dial through technology, intelligence gathering, weconomic poweress, etc.

Trump is now using the Putin PLAYBOOK 100% when he wants to ‘DO SOMETHING’ like going to war/SMO.

For example, he is saying that Cuba , as per current regime, is a threat to US security and therefor this must be neutralised through war, regime change , commercial blockades, etc.

AND, AND, AND Putin’s favourite reason, currently, is when another sovereign country is treating it’s Russian speaking citizens as very second class citizens like will not allow The Russian language being thought in schools then he will invade to protect them. Wheather that is true or not is irrelevant

Remember when Trump was telling everyone that he would solve the Ukraine war in 1 day, even before he actually entered the WH, because he was so great at making deals.

And now he can't even get a deal done for a war he started.

And as everyone predicted when he started, he has now got bored of the whole thing and just wants it to go away.

The biggest 'weapon'the US had was the threat of military force. That if Iran ever stepped too far then the US would step in. Trump has managed to completely waste all of that. Iran can see that the US is pretty impotent. Sure it can make things really bad, destroy lots of things, but they don't have the stomach for a ground war.

Trump latest wheeze, trying to bully all ME countries into accepting Israel fully, has been met with silence and hasn't been mentioned since. Another disaster and more proof that Trump has lost all US authority

I wonder if there's some kind of mathematical formula, so I can work out what the maximum amount of money is I can steal/embezzle/misappropriate etc. for the minimum Trump donation?

Hrm. I thought he got his South African buddies out to the US, now bailing. Still, Argentina has been fascist-friendly forever.

Thank goodness for Gawker. Outed this guy and got him the publicity he craved, only for him to show the world what an absolute roach he is.

    Maybe Eloon will go next.

I have to ask, if it was your daughter would you make such a flippant remark? Would you be ok that she was 'only' sexually assaulted and not raped?

No? I didn't think you would!
