    No they haven't, people aren't doing it properly, it's utilising a deal between YouTube and Apple which Apple are getting a nice cut out of.

    I'd don't know about that , I'm pretty sure they flagged my original google account* as I followed all instructions to a tee and tried all the workarounds for the 'couldn't verify your country' but nothing worked, whereas it worked like a charm with no hiccups for a new (to youtube premium) account, which I then used to create a new family and get back access.

    *this original google account had been managing a youtube premium family for turkey since 2021 first with Revolut, then FUPS, then revolut with FUPS as a backup payment with no breaks in service or kicks & resubs up to a few weeks ago.

    The instructions state you need to create a new identity which involves creating a new email that Apple or YouTube haven't seen before which I what you did in the end. I did that from the outset which is why it worked straight away.

    I used all the same Google accounts for my Turkish account that I've used on all the other various ways of getting cheap you tube with no issues. I just created a new apple id

    Time is contagious, everybody's getting old.

    Just to confirm. I signed up using the method linked here. No VPN ever used

    I’m sorry it doesn’t seem to work for some, but I’ll repeat what I said earlier. The selling point of this method is that no VPN is needed

    I think the new identity was just for the new apple ID not the google account.

    so I got sorted in the end and what seemed to work for me was a new YouTube account and the country issue went away so I must have been flagged

    My Algeria sub had been flagged and renewal attempts (prior to expiry) failed as my country could not be verified. So I let the sub expire and I'm now trying to renew via Polish VPN with Poland set as my location within Youtube

    I have created a virtual Revolut card and the renewal was progressing but when I try to make payment I get this error: "Transaction declined. This purchase requires a payment method from your billing country. [OR_RECR_05]"

    Does anyone have an idea what is cropping up here?

    I'm unsure how I can change my billing country in Revolut, or recall if I had to in obtaining the Algeria sub

    you can’t change the billing country and that’s why so many people are being kicked, I was in Turkey for years and had to move to khazakstan for a couple of years which worked with Revolut fine

    The internet isn’t for everyone
