I see Donnie, while being tough on certain alleged drug dealers, is going to pardon a convicted drug dealer.

Trump apparently made a phone call to Maduro telling him to relinquish power immediately.

So he is telling one nation down there to vote for a certain party or they won't get any more support, he pardoned another ex Central American leader who had 45 years for drugs/other charges and now he's telling another leader to get out whilst parking a massive war fleet off it's coast

    Real isolationism there

Trump edging closer to challenging the UN to do something about the US. Some American politicians want to check the legality of strikes on Venezuela.

Amid growing fears of US military action in Venezuela, President Donald Trump on Tuesday confirmed that Washington was looking to up the ante against the South American nation, promising military action "very soon".

"We’re going to start doing those strikes on land too," Trump was quoted as saying on Tuesday by CNN during a cabinet meeting.

A group of U.S. senators who have tried repeatedly to rein in President Donald Trump's aggression against Venezuela said on Tuesday they would file a new resolution to force a congressional vote on the issue if the administration carries out a strike within the country.

On the terrorist thing - they're behind the curve compared with us. We designated organised drug crime gangs as terrorist organisations a good number of years ago. In Ireland they are convicted in tbe Special Criminal Court rather than a regular criminal court.

The US has released it's National Security Strategy document.

Not great news for certain regions especially South and central America.

"We will defend and enforce the Monroe Doctrine to restore American primacy in the Western Hemisphere. We will deny competitors from other regions the ability to station troops or other threatening forces, or to own or control strategically important assets, in our hemisphere."

This is a paragraph on the war in Ukraine!

The Ukraine War has had the perverse effect of increasing Europe’s, especially Germany’s, external dependencies. Today, German chemical companies are building some of the world’s largest processing plants in China, using Russian gas that they cannot obtain at home. The Trump Administration finds itself at odds with European officials who hold unrealistic expectations for the war perched in unstable minority governments, many of which trample on basic principles of democracy to suppress opposition. A large European majority wants peace, yet that desire is not translated into policy, in large measure because of those governments’ subversion of democratic processes. This is strategically important to the United States precisely because European states cannot reform themselves if they are trapped in political crisis
