    Not sure where you got that mantra from, but almost every rights situation requires considerations of balance. Indeed, changing rooms, homeless shelters, rape crisis centres and breast feeding clinics are indeed important, and the people in charge of managing those facilities are the ones in the best position to get the right balance.

    I don't think so. When these organisations are funded by the public purse, then the public gets a major say in how they are run.

    Most of these discussions are predicated around the bogeyman situation of the violent thug who puts on a skirt specifically to get into a position where they can assault women. This is broadly a tabloid invention, and the people who run these important facilities are well capable of managing to ensure that these situations don't arise.

    Here's an idea. Why not let the women (including the lesbians you identified earlier) who are happy to share facilities like toilets, prisons etc and sports teams with males, do that, and let the women who don't want to share them have their own toilets, prison facilities and sports teams without males?
