The Saints have to play the Titans and Jets that's potentially two spots you can move up. If the Saints beat the Titans and lose to the Jets and you lose to the Giants that's the no.2 pick.

You aren't getting number 1 unless the Titans go on a run because you beat them.

Thats whats realistic that the Raiders could get as high as the number 2 pick and if the Titans are set with Ward as their QB then Mendoza may well be available at 2. Time will tell. In any case at least as far as the Raiders and the schedule is concerned the only game I see as winnable is the Giants one at home. So if the Raiders do lose that there is a good chance they finish the season 2-15 and in with a strong shot at the number 2 pick in the draft.

I do think some of the teams above us in the draft order will win at least 1 more game but you are right - we wont get to number 1 pick this year at this stage - the Titans have it sown up I reckon. I still think No.2 is a genuine possibility but yeah realistically a trade up will be needed to secure a franchise QB like Mendoza.

I admire your optimism (pessimism!?) but I wouldn't underestimate the Raiders chances of beating either the Chargers or the Broncos in the coming weeks. Neither of these teams are lighting it up on offense and the Raiders should probably have beaten both of them already.

I like to think of it as realism :D - after over 40 years of watching the Raiders I have seen this movie too many times ! In-division games always have a chance of an upset but we are averaging about 16 pts per game so the opposition doesn't need to be on fire to beat us.

I'm the same, too many failed drafts, coaches players over that time! I'm not sure I'd trust the current administration or coaching staff to develop a QB like Mendoza in any case. The game on Sunday will be interesting as the Chargers OLine is nearly as bad as ours.
