I don’t touch the independent since they slandered Liam lawlor the day he died in Moscow.

No fan of Liam Lawlor and yes I hold a grudge for a long time but I just that was a bridge too far and they still are very tabloidy to this day.
buy the examiner on a Saturday and Sunday times. Times seems to be getting thinner every week

So, the decline is now rapidly accelerating!

The Sunday World website (sundayworld.com) has rebranded and is redirecting to a site called Crimeworld.com, which is also behind a paywall, a misstep in my opinion (the paywall).

It shows the direction of travel and thought about the Sunday World publication by Mediahuis.

I was told that this transformation was the plan a couple of weeks ago, but I thought it was a bit of a joke. The same individual told me that the Sunday World paper is selling circa 35k-32k every week.

I had a market research survey repeatedly asking me if I had heard of Crimeworld, if I read Crimeworld etc etc. Now I understand why!

Mediahuis seems to have gone for a Digital First strategy. It is no surprise that it is targeting a part of the market where it thinks that it could have a good conversion rate. There's also an interesting disclosure in its "trust us" section on the use of AI. There seems to have been at least two versions of the Mediahuis CMS with the latest being very advanced in terms of HTML and options.

In terms of data, Mediahuis has a lot of it since it dumped that POS content management system that IN&M was using before the firesale. Mediahuis is a very different company to IN&M. In terms of webpage strategy Mediahuis is also very different from the Irish Times In terms of information architecture, the front page of the IT's website is a very bad design. It overloads the user with a pile of links to articles rather than sections. The Indo site is far more streamlined in that it draws the user in slowly and still uses the navigation bar approach. The SW might not be the only rebrand/spin out.

    Regards…jmcc

There are a lot of people out there who are obsessed with crime and murder.
