Reminds me of a similar setup that could be had in on the W211-213 Merc E-Class Estates.

Generally speaking there are no real downsides since it's already out of warranty. Just check the history in Japan for accident damage or mileage discrepancies and check the Japanese auction sheet too. There is an awful lot of wear on the seats and steering wheel for a car of that mileage but I don't think it's even possible to clock a Tesla

Is that damage to the front bumper picture 4?

I could be wrong but I think they are chademo in Japan.

Was looking at Etron Gts and one was showing chademo .

Not a particularly good deal. And the low mileage - if real - is not a bonus. Car has been used very little. Could have been sitting up for months fully charged. I'm normally fairly brazen about EV batteries, but I would run tests on that

Yep most EVs in Jap would be Chademo. But Im fairly certain Jap Teslas (at least older ones) have the American NACS charging port. A mate who lives in NZ imported an MS a few years ago and he said he needed to buy an adapter to fiyt his Type 2 wall charger.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,805 ✭✭✭✭User1998

Yes you're right. My mate imported a Jap Tesla and had to do the same thing. Wasn't expensive

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,216 ✭✭✭✭unkel

I would double check with Tesla if they can still do the CCS conversion (for the same price). Being stuck to 45kW obsolete CHAdeMO charging would be very bad

BTW I bought the Tesla CHAdeMO adapter many years ago when they had it on special for €99 including shipping. Thought just as well, for so little money. They were going on eBay for €300 at the time second hand. Never used it of course, it lives in the frunk 😁

Looks like a nice model and while that colourway may not appeal to everyone, I really like it.

Low miles a bonus, power and range perhaps less than you might want for the money however.

Seem to remember radios from Japan have issues here? Also, guessing a nav update would be required unless these cars store global maps?

No 3g coverage possibly, also the navigation is unlikely to work. The radio won't work either as the frequency bands are different there.

Also.. it's not japanese looking at the screen, it's listed as HK in the navigation SW

Tesla seats are incredibly well wearing, I'd be suspect of that drivers seat and also what state is the steering wheel in terms of wear and tear. Those looks like Gen1 seats which are not vegan, real leather, would be right on the border of second gen seating introduction. That looks like a Hong Kong car. I would check with Tesla would they look after that car if anything every went wrong that could not be handled by an indy, there are reports of Tesla washing their hands of grey imports in other countries. Free supercharging would need to be confirmed, there are lots out there thinking free for life but actually tied to first owner. Pyro fuse replacement due any time now.

That also looks like a trader selling privately.

Not a great price given everything.

My stuff on Adverts, mostly Tesla Pre Highland Model 3

There will be Tesla CPO 2018 Model S coming back online soon. If anyone here has questions pop me a message.

Does the additional warranty on a Tesla CPO cover everything (door handles, MCU, suspension etc) or is it just the battery and drivetrain? Trying to decide how much of a premium I'd be willing to pay.

everything. It’s as per the original factory warranty.

Question about motors for a moment.

I know there were issues with the pre-facelift Large Drive Unit motor on the rwd cars, but in post-facelift times does the Induction Large motor throw up any issues in the facelift performance models?

    Hi,

Bit of a niche question, but I will chance my arm here and ask anyway!

Does anyone know is the large HEPA filter in the frunk only needed for bio defence mode?

I'm bringing my car in for a service and it's over €300 to replace this filter, so I'm just wondering is it used day-to-day, or only if you engage bio defence mode (which I never use)?

And also, would people doing the tyre rotation on the all wheel drive model? It seems to be recommended?

Due to the lower suspension, I've hit a few speed bumps over the years, and the two plastic strips on the bottom (ski rails) need replacing, at €700!!

    Thanks!!

I don’t know about the filter, but the ski-rails could surely be sourced in a breaker yard or online and fitted DIY?

    Question for everyone.

Where do we think the value is in used Model S vehicles these days?

Asking prices are all over the place at the moment. There is no shred of consistency in what's being offered on DoneDeal right now. I passed up a nice condition 2018 S75D last week, advertised for 23K, let go for 20,500. Had MCU2, CCS, and EAP but still didn't feel worth it. Very good nick though.

The thought of 30k for a Raven update car is a little sickening tbh.

A few on UsercarsNI but nothing jumping out unless NI regged (few and far between).

I only really see 3 value points. A very early car for dirt cheap. A facelift car for late teens, or a P100D ludicrous Raven for late twenties

That's where I would be too. I couldn't shell out for the P100DL. The dirt cheap early model just wasn't hitting the spot. I fell in the middle for the late teens.

Yeah I was the same for my current car. Facelift car. But unfortunately it was mid 40s when I bought it 4 years ago 😂

I’ve been keeping my eye on a few & decent ones are moving recently. I missed out on a 2020 Ludicrous Performance from a dealer up north last week - worked out about €27k imported (no VRT, vat, customs duty).

A nice 75D on a 192D plate went through Merlin today for just over €23k plus fees - so €25k give or take, so dear for what it was

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,624 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

That P100DL up north was on sale since May. In total almost 7k in price cuts made. It was a UK reg and didn't quality for customs/VAT-free import I thought? Which put me off. Dealer was little help.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,216 ✭✭✭✭unkel

There was an Irish 2019 P100DL recently for €27k but it sold very quickly. You rarely see them under €30k yet. I'd say it's likely a few people are keeping a lookout for one and will jump on a well priced one.

It was UK reg but had a NI owner for just under a year, so should have passed the VAT/duty test on the basis it was in NI for a reasonable amount of time.

I found the dealer ok, they sent me a full walkaround video of car & negotiated a good chunk off last asking price they had, just never got up in time to see it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 880 ✭✭✭bf

interestingly all 4 Model S for sale up north for last while all seem to have sold in the last few days

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,624 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

Yes, but only exported in June according to MOT records so something was off. Looked like a nice car, but the dealer in question was completely uninterested in a southern-regged trade in, even telling me it wasn't possible at one stage.

    Of course it's possible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,216 ✭✭✭✭unkel

They'd have to offload your trade in to a southern trader to come pick it up from them and drive it to Dublin or get it transported. That's hassle and costs money. Their "no" doesn't mean it's not possible, it just means PFO. South of the border is a different culture. They'd say "yes" and offer you half of what the car is worth. Still means PFO 😂

Also I'd be very wary of a NI trader just telling you it will be fine, no VAT / duty / VRT, don't take their word for it, DYOR. Or agree a fixed fee to get it on Irish plates

Hi, does anyone know can you drop your car off the night before for an 8 am service the next day?

    Thanks!
