    IF your car is under warranty maybe open a service request? It sounds extremely annoying.

    They were selling some cars last month I think as second hand ones, but they had a very limited mileage. I think they were just above 40k.

    A service request will not achieve anything. They're just sh!t, plain and simple. You can find many posts online with people complaining about Teslas blinding them.

    Absolutely flawless on my MY, I have it permanently enabled. It's older than yours though, so that may be a factor 🤷‍♂️

    Does it dip before it can see the car ahead? No of course it can't. I guarantee you're also being a nuisance to other drivers.

    fair enough you are finding they arent working for you but why is pressing a button to dip them not a proper solution, is it not the same as any other car where you pull at a stalk to dip your lights?

    Going from 3 AWD to Y AWD. I always liked the premium sound in our 3 at low speeds but the road noise really affected the sound quality especially on rough surfaced motorway like M1.

    No its not the same. That's the crux of the problem really. Anything that differs from how the majority of other cars work and which goes against common driving etiquette is inevitably going to be deemed a nuisance.

    I could certainly live with it and I will do. The thing i'm most pissed off about is how autopilot automatically turns on full beams. It obviously needs it to see properly. But that alone really fcuks up being able to control the lights manually. And not being able to turn on autopilot at will really really sucks.

    What adaptive light system on any car would alter the beam pattern before it saw a vehicle ahead?

    It reacts instantly on mine, and I have never been flashed.

    You sure you have your lights turned down correctly a few degrees from the factory setting? That does plague all MY builds from the factory (God knows why).

    I guarantee if I put my lights back up to the factory setting I would get flashed all the time when using adaptive auto lights.

    I have mine at factory. MYJ. No issues being flashed, unless i'm being warned about a speed trap ahead 🤣

    I'm not singling out Tesla. Well I supoose I am, only because thats the car I have.

    I think we agree so. Whats the distance a Tesla (or any other car) can see? Its not far enough to leave full beams on.

    I think a lot of the flashes could be "headlight police". They see bright lights and they feel its their duty to police the roads and angrily get you to dim your lights. I think for many, the lights not actually glaring in their eyes.

    But I'm getting flashed and the car immediately dims. Its like it doesn't know if its a car or not and until you're flashed.

    Like I said, its dependant on hills, bends and distance. Give me a road that doesn't have those.

    I'm sorry I just don't believe anyone who says it works immaculate. You're either blissfully unaware or just don't care.

    If nobody is flashing me then I have to assume it isn't really a problem.

    What other yardstick would a driver have?

    You said it yourself above - you get flashed and then the car dips, it's entirely possible that dipped or undipped your lights are not set correctly.

    Be honest, what dark roads do you drive on a regular basis? There's nothing wrong with my light configuration. Its full beams I'm talking about, which literally light up the fcuking sky on a pitch black road.

    Since Thursday last week, an experienced engineer assisting our team was having trouble getting a robot to the correct processing configuration. I suggested a specific sensor needed to be adjusted to detect a product before processing it. He dismissed the suggestion and as the less experienced engineer on the machine, I carried on with other duties.

    Days were wasted on the problem until a different experienced engineer suggested an adjustment to the same sensor. I didn't say who suggested the fix to the other engineer who offered a hand. 5 minutes later, the sensor was re-aligned and the issue was resolved. There was relief, then awkward silence, then we carried on with our work. Sometimes it's worth taking a little time to try a simple fix. It may, or may not work, but at least you've tried it. You're probably right, but it's worth a shot for the sake of a couple of minutes.

    Do you mean adjust the lights? I've tried that.

    I've logged a service request, lets see. Did someone say they can adjust them remotely? That would be cool.

    Sounds like you're doing what you can then. My Model 3 had this issue early on and Tesla OTA updates resolved it. It wasn't a big problem, as I drive mainly well lit roads. I'm sure the same will happen with the MYJ. I haven't been flashed at all in mine thankfully, as it hasn't blinded anyone. It's the price we pay for living with cutting edge tech 😉

    I’m also in the “haven’t been flashed camp”. And I drive the N2 to Letterkenny and the Mwhatever to Wexford 3 times a month. AP or auto headlights always on.

    On a my23, think I'm going to get the oem, do Tesla fit them? Also, can you leave them on all the time? Is there a whistle?

    Mate has them.
    leaves them on all the time.
    Not sure if Tesla fit but they get delivered and are easy to do.
    he never mentioned any noise.

    Had them on the M3. Minimal noise at high speed. Got them because I had credits to use and had a planned trip to Germany with not enough space to bring back a solar battery battery case, cells and my sons luggage on the return trip. Very useful and I left them on. Don't know if the new owner kept them on.

    They are easy enough to fit. Tesla can do it if you want.
