Not a single flash and I was expecting some based on comments on here or online. And the Letterkenny trip was up the N2 through Ardee, Omagh etc so not particularly well lit either.

Easiest thing to do I lower both 2-3 clicks in service menu and see how you go

Out of the crate the MY lights are set too high.

Anytime I am blinded by oncoming lights in a suburban setting in the last 2 years or so I always look to see the brand, and 9/10 times it's a Model Y at fault.

As Cyrus notes, park up facing a wall or a window and set the lights to point down a couple of clicks in the service menu.

Agreed, I also live in dark rural roads and the last winter I was getting flashed every few cars. I then adjusted the beams down a few turns of the scroll wheel and now it’s rare to get a flash. When going over a hill it can still hit someone dead on the eyes but that’s the same for all and luckily it usually briefly.

I also get the odd one when a car is more than ~600 meters away on a straight before the matrix beams adjust.

Hey guys, thinking on getting a model Y in Jan, what efficiency are you guys getting? Interested to know about the new 2026 Juniper, if you can specify how many km are you doing and getting would be great!

Just look at ev database if you want a reasonably accurate range estimate per model and per conditions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23 irishnian

yeah I did but I assume is not very accurate because I have an ID4 pro plus and not getting anywhere near the values they show there unfortunately, that’s why I was wondering…

Everyone’s driving style is slightly different but to be fair to EV Database, I have always found it to be pretty accurate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 21,551 ✭✭✭✭Cyrus

That's unusual I've generally found it spot on, what range are you getting from the id4 and what does everyone database say,

Which version of the juniper are you looking at ?

getting efficiency of 19kwh/100km (no heat pump)

I sometimes do Crossmolina to Lahinch and it eats 50% of the battery to get there so I definitely need a top up on the way back, even in summer and I basically go at the speed limit from the roads. It’s a mix of 80-100 and a last stretch of 120km when I get the M17-18. It’s 200km so I was expecting perhaps something like 60% battery left?

looking to get the latest model y since I’ve been reading and watching reviews and seems the efficiency is pretty good

For Tesla Mod Y RWD Junipeer see range stats. While it is a simple question unfortunately the answer is more complex as there are multiple variables some controllable (single or multi journey, speed, acceleration) some not controllable (temperature, weather, terrain). The stats below provide some insigths but take note of the notes as cold weather is defined as minus 10!

Given Tesla won’t want your old ID.4, your cost to change into a new ID.4 might be significantly less.

Tesla don't want their own cars back. All trade-ins are offered out to a network of dealers. Doesn't matter if it's a Model 3, or a Diesel Focus.

They say that but they've been flooding their preowned website the last month or so with trade in 3 and Ys, currently 29 on offer but was loads more a few weeks back

My stuff on Adverts, mostly Tesla Pre Highland Model 3

I think they do cherry pick the nicest models that pop up on trade-in requests where they know the incoming model is likely to be pristine and/or easy to sell.

Was away for 2 weeks and when I came back I thought the accelerator pedal was very heavy. I'm assuming it was because the rental I had while I was away had a very light accelerator and my foot has simply 'forgotten' what they Y is like. But I've had breaks away with rentals before and never noticed. Maybe they had accelerators more similar to the Y.

Nobody wants it. It goes up on an auction website, highest bid less admin expenses is your trade in value. I was very happy with my trade in price.

Was at the NEVO electric car show in the RDS earlier.... they had an exploded version of the Model Y on display... gives a good insight into the internal design and components of the car...

I thought all Ys being sold were Junipers by the start of July?

    Where are you based?

Are they any good? I picked up a full set on Ali (inc boot, sub boot, rrunk and back of seats) and they look great. They're the light weight ones, but I noticed the passenger side one developed an odd crease near the edge which almost looks like a varicose vain. Considering changing out the front mats, but want a really good set.

The interior floor pan of the MYJ is hardly different to the original MY surely?

Is this a marketing exercise to attract Magpie owners of the facelift model?

I would be interested in a heavy duty set for the original MY.

Went for a test drive yesterday after successfully sold my previous Tesla earlier this week. It's hard not to be impressed by the Juniper: It feels like a huge jump in refinement over the Model 3 we had.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,434 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

It's about the same refinement as the Model 3 successor. Materials seem slightly softer/nicer to touch, ambient lighting introduced, suspension tweaks make it feel more comfy. Not sure the sound system was a step forward though, unless you spring for the AWD version (?).

The older model was hardly a bad place to be, especially if kitted out nicely, and all models had premium sound - which is terrific.

Tried adjusting the lights but no joy. Last night was unbelievable the amount of people flashing me. Heavy rain seems to make it worse. The only conclusion I can come to is they're just not good enough to leave fully automated.

There are so many factors, terrain, bends, distance. Distance is the worst. I can be driving behind someone and its 100% full beam. It doesn't work until it sees the car ahead (i.e until it shows on the screen) which is too close. They need to dip much sooner. It also dips as soon as people flash, which just shows how sh!t it is. It can obviously see the cars, it just doesn't know they are oncoming headlights until its trigger with a flash. Its a really obnoxious implementation.

I've figured out one press dips them and a long press (1-2) seconds sets it back to auto full beams. Timing is important because a quick second press flashes the beams.

It's far from perfect and not a proper solution to the issue. Engaging autopilot sets them back to full beams, immediately blinding people for about 2 seconds until the matrix does its dimming.

So the only solution I have is to control them manually and don't engage autopilot.

It's a major issue. I can't believe there isn't bigger out cry. I guess most people have street lighting.

As someone who drives 90% of the time in pitch black, I wish I had known this before buying the car. Honestly feel that strongly about it. A truly awful implementation.
