You'd imagine he will be off alright..

Corinthians highest ranked Connacht team in 2A - surely they won't ask him to drop down to that level.

No reason he can't keep playing for Rock as long as he is willing to travel.

Harry Sheridan kept playing for Trinity when he was in Ulster Academy.

News from Ballyclare - No signings in, no players out for the 2nd year in row. Struggling to recruit anyone as they aren't willing to pay. Good on them for sticking to their guns.

Coaching Changes - Ricky Lutton has stepped down, replaced by Aaron Playfair and Ulster Outhalf Jake Flannery in as new backs coach.

Usually yeah but Connacht club rugby is not in a great place at the moment with Buccs having slid down to 2B and Corinthians in 2A. Galwegians also plying their trade in 2B.

I know a few of the Connacht academy lads are with these clubs but I don't know how much merit there is to taking one of the top performers in 1B (led them to the promotion play offs for 1A) out of that league.

Obviously the commute would be a factor.

Agree definitely doesn't make sense from a quality of rugby perspective. Would imagine that Connacht have ambitions for their clubs to play higher up the AIL hence why they want their players in Connacht clubs and will hopefully make this happen.

Just 2 1A players in the starting U20 XV and another 2 on the bench. Hopefully I'm wrong but this IRFU policy of driving players to any senior clubs (regardless of division) may come back to bite them.

The bigger issue is the coaching they are getting at u20 level.

Id expect some of those Leinster lads will move to 1A next season.

Ciaran Mangan signed for Lansdowne I'm told

If the galway clubs want promotion it will cost them a lot money wise, not sure if they want to go down that route. Club up north apparently 2 seasons ago had a budget of 600k for their first team and was paying a high profile player 70k. Need a sugar daddy for that kind of cash.

Admire Ballycastle for not paying players, hope things work out for them. Must be a seriously tight team with no new players for 2 year

    Any transfer gossip?

Hearing an awful lot but it's hard to know what to believe.

Anyone know of any done deals across the leagues?

Munster Senior Cup draw is done. All big teams avoided each other - looks like cork con V Nenagh in quarter final if they both come thru.

Jordan Coghlan signed back with Clontarf.

    John Forde signed with Blackrock

Conal Boomer signed back for Nure

    Stephen McMahon signed for Trinity

Shane Mallon signed for barnhall. ex Connacht academy.

Cork Con signed sean edbogo (TBC) as well as Michael foy and the other UCC lads

Wanderers are still throwing around serious coin to any lads moving to Dublin.

JC said a couple of years ago something about Tarf being his club but Nure had better job opportunities apparently (€€€). Now he's heading back to his club (€€€). He's dead right to take whatever is going. Assume John Vinson isn't in the picture any more in that case.

Heard JF was moving to Dublin to study alright. Conal Bommer was playing in MLR. Will he go back after Xmas?

UCC is like an academy for Con.

throw in the fact that half or over half his relatives are involved with tarf (hes a cousin of FC the former womens 8) and just after buying a home in malahide the commute is probably way way way easier lets call a spade a spade like and yeah your on the money there i think vinson went back home to oz

id be surpised also if he will play many seasons with them either tbh, probably coming to the end of his career with his age and his body is probably wrecked from years playing the pro game

Aye, sure whatever. Lol. 600k player Budget...lol...honestly where do you guys get this nonsense from lol.

Coghlan to Tarf is some loss to Terenure, hopefully Spencer is as good as the hype. John Forde is a fantastic signing for Blackrock, was always massively thought of in Cork as a young Pres player, surprised he didn’t make it as a professional. Lansdowne signed Tom Daly, fantastic player, wonder if he will play ahead of Parata at 12. Tarf also signed a lot of UCD lads including Alan Spicer, looking likely to go back to back.

Nobody has gone back to back apart from shannons 4 and 3 in a row. many teams have made finals trying to go b2b but def cant say tarf are likely to go back to back. way too difficult to do to confidently say theyll go b2b

    Any further AIL transfer news?

It is rumoured that Shane O'Leary is returning from MLR to play with Young Munsters.

Usual chasing going on in Limerick to sign up Munster based NTS players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,253 ✭✭✭Hey_Ho_Lets_Go_3

    Who are they?

Jamie Conway? Billy Hayes? joe Finn?

Are the wood brothers staying with garryowen?

Are Emmet Calvey and Oisin Minogue staying with Shannon?

Luke Murphy moved to Young Munster iirc

Imagine James O'Leary, Chris Barrett and Charlie O'Shea are staying in Cork.

    Anyone else?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 4,997 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lost Ormond

Dont see woods leaving Garryowen. would be surprised if either calvey or minogue leaving Shannon now if Shannon stayed in 2A next season they might move on.

Quinn and EOC were allowed stay with their clubs , OC and UL Bohs while they were u21 players. I assume calvey and Minogue will be allowed stay (if they wish) this season and then move for 26/27 season if SNN does go back to 1A
