I'm loaded up until November with giftcards from Turgame.

I never use a vpn and it's still working ok for me.

I don't expect it to last forever though…..

You are a khaki coloured bombardier, it's Hiroshima that you're nearing.

did you find a solution to this ? I'm in the same boat. when I disconnect vpn it defaultsto Irish pricing. I had let my membership lapse and trying to restart it.

Jesus, Turgame rightly screwing customers now. Almost €17 per month for premium.

Maybe stupid question, but presumably you can buy Netflix voucher cards in Turkey just the same as you can buy Irish cards here.

What is the risk buying bunch of cards when on hols ….

if/when my account gets kicked, i can always sell them here ;-)

I make that Service Fee in the past month has yo-yo'd from 1.6% up to 40% down to 20% and now back up to 35%

I would hazard a guess that they are getting done over by Netflix in a bigway, which would have a direct impact on their acquisition costs.

It wouldnt make sense to do this themselves, hurting their own customer base and business model. Turgame until recently consistently had the best conversion price and the same rate regardless of the denomination of the gift card you purchased, unlike its competitors.

If they lose this advantage, then people are just going to play the market.

I have since purchased another months gift card with Turgame and it was accepted, although my account is now geo-locked to Turkey (for the month I assume).

So my subscription got cancelled again, but account is still active

Besides VPN detection, its clear that one of the strongest signals of circumventing regional pricing for Netflix is the payment method. Up to recently, if you tried to pay for a Turkish account with a credit card issued in Ireland, Netflix will likely detect this discrepancy and flag your account. This is where gift cards came in handy, as they don't carry the same regional banking information.

However, reading recent Reddit reports from March-July 2025, users describe their gift card-funded subs being cancelled (liek me) or forced to switch currency. In some cases, accounts have been completely cancelled, with users losing their remaining gift card balance.

This increase increase in reports recently suggest that Netflix is getting more aggressive in cancelling subs and accounts without any warning.

Given my experience of my sub being cancelled twice, I suspect my account has been flagged and I can no longer use Turkish gift cards. So I would be better off setting up a new account and repeating the process.

While using regional gift cards might still work for some for a limited time, it's getting increasingly unreliable (again just based on increased reports online).

Im still going to try again, but I'll only be loading up on a monthly basis from now on to limit any loss.

Hopefully the rest of you peeps can keep holidaying in Turkey without my drama.

    any solutions?

I was using it without issue and had 2 payment methods until last week that they removed with account on hold. Used gift cards and working for a few days before cancelled

What occurred to me is I did try to use my account abroad in two different countries in a month which likely flagged the account and started the shut down process. Laziness on my part. Probably wise to not rock the boat if you’re still on holiday in Turkey. If it works in on your home devices or phone out and about in home region without issues, don’t rock the boat!

Does seem to be a clampdown but that was my recent experience. The price is also creeping up a lot so hardly worth the hassle anymore

Gift cards loading on Turkey account to last until November.

This email then came in this morning:

    1000130918.jpg

Netflix is still playing away, so I presume come next billing date on 30th July the account won't reload using gift card balance?

Ps. My last Netflix cards, from August onwards were purchased using Eneba, prior to that it was Turgame.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,827 ✭✭✭wassie

Based on my experience above, I would not reload on that account as it has been flagged due to inconsistent payment info.

Did your keys from Eneba have the warning re: payment method (you can actually check against the keys info on your Eneba account)?

I've created a new account will try again after my first full premium month has expired.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,979 ✭✭✭✭shmeee

Yep, just ignored as was no obvious signs at the time that it was going to cause an issue.

    1000130920.jpg

I had enough credits with Turgame cards until end of this month, so the swap to Eneba flagged it maybe?

So you've created a new account in turkey? Paid how?

As per Reddit, turkey account getting nuked

Im suspect that this is what triggered my account cancellation. Pure speculation on my part simply as my account was fine on Turgame vouchers, then I loaded up with Eneba giftcards (but ignored that warning) and got membership cancelled within a 2 weeks.

Could be a coincidence also and my account was already flagged by Netflix regardless. No way of knowing.

New account is a full Irish account. Then after one month will Turgame gift cards again. But one month at a time!

So I finally got booted out of Nigeria after six months. It was all going great, €3.15 a month which increased to €3.71 this month. Re-signed up no problem but got booted out after a week. Signed up again but got booted out today after another week. Not going to bother again as it would cost more per month than an Irish sub. Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

Anyone setting up an Irish family? I'd love a spot!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,489 ✭✭✭Zardoz

It looks like I got booted out too, on the 13th, sneaky as they increased the price and I paid on the 5th.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,319 ✭✭✭-=al=-

There always seems to be an extra round of booting after a price rise payment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,283 ✭✭✭Ohmeha

My Netflix Turkish account which is vouchered-up until June 2026 is still working fine despite applying an Eneba voucher on June 9th and receiving the price increase from July 13th, I'm not going to tempt applying any new Turgame or Eneba voucher until next May

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,324 ✭✭✭lau1247

For people that got booted out (apart from the Eneba speculation), how do you apply the voucher? By that I mean do you use VPN then log into Netflix webpage to apply it? I wonder if that makes any difference because I always redeem it via VPN myself.

Booted out of Nigeria too. Got a good 8 months out of it.

    Back to the high seas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,283 ✭✭✭Ohmeha

I only had success applying a voucher for Netflix using a Turkish VPN though I've read other people here saying they did not need to be using a VPN. I would be doubtful if this has made any difference in why some people have been recently booted out and some have not

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,979 ✭✭✭✭shmeee

You can apply a voucher with out without a VPN. I've done it both ways, booted from Turkey end of month.

Will use Stremio and 2 other platforms my IPTV provider has available. All netflix content on it. It was just handy on the smart TVs to have Netflix. Won't be paying the Irish prices anyway.

I'll go somewhere else of others can get it working but looks like the gig is up.

Don't seem to have been rumbled yet but will probably only add a low amount of Tl voucher next time just to test the waters

Used eneba last time so have probably been flagged on the system.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,323 ✭✭✭ablelocks

had topped up with vouchers 3 weeks ago with G2A, thanks for the heads up about using it abroad - back from Spain, didn't use our login there and thankfully no issue with it here.

    so far anyway!

When did Turgame start looking for the payment in TRY? The last time I bought a card was early June

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,827 ✭✭✭wassie

The payment provider (IYZI) I use always was in TL. But not issue as I pay with either Revolut or N26.

Not sure about the other payment providers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,629 ✭✭✭✭tom1ie

Damn it anyway! I tried purchasing Turgame vouchers this morning but its looking for payment in TL and then looking for a turkish number that it wants to send a secure text to as a security measure FFS!

    Anyway around this folks?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 990 ✭✭✭whosedaddy?

Paying TL with Revolut works and you can change the phone number prefix for the ident verification. (It doesn’t have to be a Turkish number)
