I see on a saorview page where RTE News and SKY News got a signal upgrade, going from 544×576i to 704×576i, all others remains the same.

Sky News was 704x576 from the start. RTE News used to be bumped up to 704 for certain sporting events and then changed back to 544, but it has stayed at 704 for the last few months.

Virgin Media television have taken all the rights to broadcast football on their service. We'll continue to watch the games on glorious Standard Definition on saorview.
